Meghan Markle Is Reportedly Not Going To Attend The Princess Diana Statue Installation Next Month in London

It looks like Meghan Markle will be absent from another royal family event.

According to a report, the Duchess of Sussex will not be attending the Princess Diana statue installation and tribute that’s taking place next month in London with Prince Harry.

A source shared with Entertainment Tonight that Meghan, who just welcomed a daughter with Harry, is focusing on being a new mom again.

“Meghan has just had a baby and has no plans to travel to London for the memorial event planned for the statue unveiling in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace,” the insider shared.

Harry, and his older brother, Prince William, commissioned the statue three years ago and it will mark the 23rd anniversary of Diana’s tragic death. The unveiling will take place on what would’ve been Diana‘s 60th birthday.

“The Princes hope that the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on their mother’s life and her legacy,” a statement from Kensington Palace at the time read.

The memorial will “recognize her positive impact in the UK and around the world.”

Prince William Talks About the Moment When He Learned His Mother Had Died

Prince William is currently on a tour of Scotland and he just spoke about the saddest moment of his life, which took place there many years ago.

The 38-year-old Duke of Cambridge spoke about his connection to the country while speaking at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland on Saturday (May 22) in Edinburgh, Scotland.

William gave a speech in his role as the Lord High Commissioner and he opened up about the moment when he learned that his late mom, Princess Diana, had died.

Princes William & Harry Believe That the BBC Interview Led to Princess Diana's Death

Prince William and Prince Harry both released statements today in response to the inquiry into the BBC interview with their late mom Princess Diana.

In their statements, the royals explained how the interview affected their family and how they believe it led to their mom’s untimely death.

William says that the interview “should never be aired again” and that the “deceitful way the interview was obtained substantially influenced what my mother said.”

For those that don’t know, this is the interview where Diana famously said that there were “three of us” in the marriage, referring to Prince Charles‘ future wife Camilla Parker-Bowles.
