Here's Why Princess Eugenie Postpones Son August's Christening This Weekend

Princess Eugenie has had to postpone the christening for her son, August.

The 30-year-old Princess of York and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, made the decision after they heard one of the attendees for the limited ceremony had been exposed to COVID-19, People reports.

The christening, which was set to take place this coming weekend at All Saint’s Chapel and according to reports, only a small handful of Royal Family members were set to be in attendance, including Queen Elizabeth, and her sister, Princess Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

According to the first reports, which appeared in The Sun on Sunday, it wasn’t known if the guest has COVID-19 or was alerted that they had been in contact with someone who had tested positive.

A source said that “No-one else was able to gather … they called off the ceremony and reception afterwards.”

August Philip Hawke was born in February, just months ahead of Lucas Tindall (Zara Tindall) and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor (Prince Harry). The three make up the ninth, tenth and eleventh of Queen Elizabeth‘s great-grandchildren.

Inside Photos from Prince Philip's Funeral - See the Royal Family at St. George's Chapel

Photos have been released from inside Prince Philip‘s funeral, which was held on Saturday afternoon (April 17) at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England.

Queen Elizabeth arrived at the funeral separately from other family members, who walked in a procession behind Philip’s coffin from the castle to the chapel. She sat all by herself during the ceremony and we learned the reason why.

Only 30 people are attending the funeral service due to COVID-19 restrictions and the guest list had to be cut down from the planned 800 people that would’ve attended in normal times.

Some of the guests included Philip‘s four children – Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward – and his grandchildren, including Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and more.

William and his wife Kate Middleton sat on opposite sides of the chapel from Harry, though they were seen chatting with each other while leaving the ceremony.

Princess Eugenie & Meghan Markle Are 'Very Close,' Despite All Those Reports About Frogmore Cottage

A new report has emerged suggesting that Princess Eugenie and Meghan Markle are “very close.”

The Princess just gave birth to her first child with her husband Jack Brooksbank, and Meghan and Prince Harry are expecting their second child.

“They would have known about each other’s due dates,” a family friend told People.

“These times tend to bring families together,” a royal insider added. “What is lovely is Eugenie having her baby as Harry and Meghan are having theirs. They are very close. And they are all deciding to go their own route.”

This report may be a shock to some due to the reports that emerged late last year about Frogmore Cottage. If you don’t know, Meghan and Harry used to live in the cottage before moving to California. The Princess and her husband then moved in, but mysteriously moved out weeks later. There was a lot of speculation as to why, but now if appears as if the Princess and her husband are back at Frogmore.
