The musical director of the 2021 Oscars, Questlove, is getting some attention for his choice of footwear at the big show!

The entertainer chose a pair of gold Crocs for the red carpet at the 2021 Academy Awards on Sunday (April 25) at Union Station in Los Angeles.

In his role as musical director, he said the following: “I’m handling pretty much all of the musical elements — the production, including the scoring of original music, and as DJ, I guess I will be the lone orchestra….Well, because of Covid we’re taking precautionary measures, so the Roots [recorded] all of the musical cues [for the show] ahead of time, like a month ago. We just knocked out about 50 or 60 musical cues, and I will DJ those songs from the stage.”

Disney and Pixar‘s Soul is coming soon!

The upcoming movie hits theaters in the United States on June 19, and a new trailer and posted debuted on Thursday (March 12).

Here’s a plot summary: Joe Gardner is a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth. Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious soul, 22, who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what’s great about living, he may just discover the answers to some of life’s most important questions.

The movie features the voices of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Phylicia Rashad, Angela Bassett, Questlove and Daveed Diggs.

In case you missed it, another Pixar movie just topped the box office – but coronavirus fears might have earned it a very low opening.

Lizzo and Donald Glover are celebrating!

The 31-year-old “Truth Hurts” singer and the 36-year-old entertainer were spotted attending the Saturday Night Live after-party hosted at Buddakan on Saturday night (December 21) in New York City.

Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson and Jason Derulo are performing “Memory” in a very unique way!

The Cats co-stars all came together to sing the song from the film (and Broadway musical) along with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots in a special classroom instruments version on Wednesday’s (December 17) episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

James Corden and Francesca Hayward joined in the special remix of “Memory” with instruments they found in an alley.

Taylor played the milk bottle, Jimmy played rain gutter, and Jason used a bottle. Francesca used a paint can, James used nails in a jar, Questlove used garbage can lids, and Black Thought used tuna cans.

Maluma is looking hot as always!

The 25-year-old Colombian superstar showed up in a mask with a rose in his mouth at Heidi Klum’s 20th Anniversary Halloween Party on Thursday night (October 31) in New York City.

Ice-T and Coco showed up as a scary butcher and Blond Ambition Tour-era Madonna, Questlove kept the party going at the DJ booth, while Reggie Bush and wife Lilit Avagyan came dressed in Batman and Batwoman masks.

Natalie Portman lounges on the lawn with Questlove while attending the Cinespia screening of the classic film Psycho on Saturday (August 24) at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

The star-studded screening, presented by Amazon Studios & Amazon Prime Video, was also attended by Vanessa Hudgens (in a skeleton costume with friend GG Magree) and Wilmer Valderrama (with girlfriend Amanda Pacheco).

More stars in attendance included Rowan Blanchard and Blockers‘ Gideon Adlon.

“Never too early for a full Halloween moment?” Vanessa wrote on her Instagram account along with a selfie of her and GG dressed up.

Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey hit the carpet while attending Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday (August 24) in Anaheim, Calif.

The cast for the upcoming Disney/Pixar movie Soul was announced at the event and it includes Jamie, Tina, Phylicia Rashad, Daveed Diggs, and Questlove, who were all in attendance.

The film journeys from the streets of New York City to the never-before-seen cosmic realms and “The You Seminar,” the fantastical place where we all discover our unique personalities.

Jamie lends his voice to Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher whose true passion is playing jazz. Tina plays 22, a soul-in-training who has an unexpected encounter with Joe when he accidentally finds his way to the “You Seminar.” Together, the two are going to find a way to get Joe back to Earth, making him think again about what it truly means to have soul.

The movie will feature original jazz music by Jon Batiste and an original score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, which will drift between the real and soul worlds. The film hits theaters on June 19, 2020.
