The cast of Girls5Eva is celebrating!

Sara Bareilles, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Busy Phillips, and Paula Pell all got the news that their series on Peacock will be back for another season!

Gabrielle Union looks stunning in a gorgeous white dress at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards held at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (May 23) in Los Angeles.

The 48-year-old actress hit the red carpet alongside her fellow presenters Lena Waithe, Renee Elise Goldsberry and Padma Lakshmi.

Gabrielle is slated to be presenting Top Selling Song, while Renee will present Top Female Country Artist.

Meanwhile, Padma will hit the stage to introduce BTS’ performance, and Lena will present Top Latin Artist.

Renee Elise Goldsberry has joined the cast of the upcoming Marvel television series She-Hulk!

The 50-year-old actress, best known for her Tony-winning work in the Broadway musical Hamilton, will also be seen in the upcoming Peacock series Girls5eva. The trailer for the new comedy series was just released the other day.

Tatiana Maslany will be playing the title character in She-Hulk, which is a legal comedy centering on Jennifer Walters, an attorney who has similar powers to her cousin, Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

Deadline reports that Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as The Hulk and Tim Roth will be reprising his work as The Abomination.

Sara Bareilles is heading to television in the new comedy series Girls5eva and Peacock just released the show’s first trailer!

In the new series, a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90’s gets sampled by a young rapper, so its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain, but can‘t they also be Girls5eva?

Also starring in the series are Busy Philipps, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell, Ashley Park, and Erika Henningsen as the younger version of Paula’s character.

Tina Fey is among the executive producers and she actually has a connection to both Erika and Ashley. They starred in the Broadway musical version of her movie Mean Girls!

All eight episodes of Girls5eva will be available to stream on Peacock on May 6.

The 2021 Gotham Awards took place on Monday night (January 11) and there was an in-person ceremony that had some celebrity attendees.

While most of the stars appeared at the awards show virtually, a handful of stars walked the red carpet and presented on stage at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The stars in attendance included Euphoria‘s Hunter Schafer, Hamilton‘s Renee Elise Goldsberry, Palm Springs‘ Cristin Milioti, Oscar nominee Michael Shannon, The Undoing‘s Noma Dumezweni, Moonlight‘s Andre Holland, and Top Chef‘s Padma Lakshmi.

Sara Bareilles and Renee Elise Goldsberry share a hug while filming a scene for their upcoming comedy series Girls5Eva on Tuesday (October 20) in New York City.

The upcoming series is going to stream on the Peacock streaming service and it is being executive produced by Tina Fey, among others. She was spotted on set alongside the pilot’s director Kat Coiro.

In Girls5Eva, “when a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90’s gets sampled by a young rapper, its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot.”

Sara is playing “Dawn, a former member of Girls5eva, who is now a bit restless in life managing her family’s small Italian restaurant in Queens. When the opportunity arises, Dawn reluctantly gets the band back together for a Girls5eva reunion and it might just be exactly what she needed.”

Renee is starring as “Wickie, the glamorous, big-voiced, star of the group back in the day. Wickie’s solo career hit a ditch, but she’s determined to use this new opportunity to retake her rightful place as pop royalty.”

In the scene, it looks like Wickie arrived at Dawn’s apartment with her suitcase in tow.

Also starring in the series are Busy Philipps, Paula Pell, and Ashley Park!

Renee Elise Goldsberry is opening up about the big risk that she took at the last minute while filming the movie for Hamilton!

The Tony-winning actress, who plays Angelica Schuyler, would normally wear a wig while performing in the Broadway musical, but she decided to use her natural hair for the movie so that fans wouldn’t see the lace front of the wig during closeups.

Renee said that in the show, her “favorite hairstyle was the last 1. High bun! Mature woman hair!”

“But in the movie, I luved the 1st look best bcuz we changed it up. I normally wore a wig, but I didn’t want that lace front in the movie, so I wore my own hair w/added volume in the back. Big last min risk. Worth it!” Renee added.
