Joel Kinnaman is dapper as he hits the carpet alongside his wife Cleo Wattenstrom at the premiere of his new Netflix series Altered Carbon held at Mack Sennett Studios on Thursday (February 1) in Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old actor was also joined at the event by his co-stars James Purefoy, Kristin Lehman, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Lexi Atkins, Hayley Law, Ato Essandoh, Hiro Kanagawa, Chris Connor, Dichen Lachman, Byron Mann, Antonio Marziale, Tamara Taylor, Martha Higareda, Laeta Kalogridis, Kristin Lehman and Fiona Vroom.

Altered Carbon follows Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Kinnaman), who is brought back to life centuries later to investigate the attempted murder of Laurens Bancroft (Purefoy), the wealthiest man on Earth. As the investigation progresses, Kovacs comes to learn that his past isn’t nearly as buried as he thought.

The 32-year-old Mindhunter star was presented with the Entertainer of the Year award by his former Hamilton co-star Renee Elise Goldsberry at the ceremony presented by Lexus at the Altman Building in New York City.

Also in attendance at the event was Newsmaker of the Year honoree Chelsea Manning, Orange Is The New Black star Lea DeLaria, Bonnie McKee, The Real O’Neals‘ Noah Galvin, Broad City‘s Parker Kit Hill, musical guest Wrabel, Brian Justin Crum, and Shade: Queens of NYC star Marti G Cummings.

Janet Jackson also made an appearance during the ceremony and was honored with the Icon Award.

Oprah Winfrey is all smiles as she arrives at the premiere of her new HBO film The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks on Tuesday night (April 18) at the SVA Theater in New York City.

The 63-year-old actress, entrepreneur, and former talk show host was joined at the premiere by her co-stars Rose Byrne, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Courtney B. Vance.

At the premiere, Oprah played coy when asked about her recent vacation with former President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Tom Hanks, and Bruce Springsteen where the stars enjoyed some fun in the sun aboard a yacht of the coast of Tahiti.

“This is the deal, what happens on the boat stays on the boat,” Oprah joked with Extra. “There were conversations all the time, that’s all we did was talk, we talked and everybody else did a lot of paddle boarding. I’m not really good with the ocean. Me and the ocean don’t get along too good, there was a lot of paddle boarding, snorkeling, jet skiing, lots of good stuff.”

Other guests at the premiere included Cynthia Erivo, Lee Daniels, and Audra McDonald.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks premiere on HBO on April 22.

The full trailer for Oprah Winfrey‘s upcoming television movie The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks has arrived!

The Oscar-nominated actress stars alongside Rose Byrne in the film, which premieres on Saturday, April 22 at 8pm EST on HBO.

Told through the eyes of Henrietta Lacks’ daughter, Deborah Lacks (Winfrey), The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks chronicles her search, along with journalist Rebecca Skloot (Byrne), to learn about the mother she never knew and understand how the unauthorized harvesting of Lacks’ cancerous cells in 1951 led to unprecedented medical breakthroughs, changing countless lives and the face of medicine forever.

The ladies originated the Schuyler sisters in the Broadway musical Hamilton and they reunited for the special performance on the world’s biggest stage.

Jasmine, Renee, and Phillipa tweaked the lyrics of the song and also added a bit of a Hamilton flare to the song.

“And crown thy good with brotherhood, and sisterhood, from sea to shining sea,” they sang.

The trio will belt out “America the Beautiful” during the televised pre-game show.

Meanwhile, Luke Bryan is set to sing the National Anthem and and Lady Gaga is headlining the Halftime Show.

The game will be played between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
