'Home Alone' Reboot Casts Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper, & Rob Delaney

Disney Plus’ upcoming Home Alone reboot has found some of its stars!

Jojo Rabbit‘s Archie Yates, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s Ellie Kemper, and Catastrophe‘s Rob Delaney have all been cast in the film, Variety reports.

Dan Mazer will direct.

Archie Yates will reportedly not be playing the iconic role of Kevin McCallister, but instead a new character “in a similar premise to the original franchise.” Additionally, Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney will not be playing Kevin’s parents, but rather other people in the film, possibly a couple not related to Kevin.

In the original 1990 flick, Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) is accidentally left home alone while his family visits Paris over the holidays. Kevin then has to guard his house from two burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).

Rob Delaney & Sharon Horgan Regret Writing Their Early Love Scenes In 'Catastrophe'

Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan happily strike a pose together while attending their For Your Consideration screening and panel for Catastrophe hosted by Amazon Prime Experience at Hollywood Athletic Club on Thursday (April 18) in Hollywood.

The co-writers and co-stars talked about living in London, making the final season of Catastrophe, and the scenes they regretted filming the most.

“All the sex stuff at the beginning, we were like ‘what the hell!’,” Sharon admitted. “You have to wear a baggie around all your junk,” Rob added. “And when you first put it on, you’re like ‘this is nice,’ but then like six takes in, it’s starting to constrict and it’s painful.”

“From my perspective, I have to have that baggie banging against me,” Sharon joked. “It’s bad for you, but it’s sad for me.”

The final season of Catastrophe is available to stream on Amazon Prime now!

The news comes just months after their third son, Henry, tragically died from brain cancer at 2 years old.

“We likely would’ve had a fourth anyway. But I mean, there’s mixed feelings. It’s sort of like they touch each other a little bit, but they almost exist in separate lanes. Having another child in no way, shape or form eases the grief of Henry dying,” he said.

He went on to talk about his new baby: “I want to gobble him up and he deserves our full attention and love, and he grew in the same womb as Henry.”

Rob recently opened up about spending the first Christmas without Henry to help de-stigmatize grief.

Rob Delaney Speaks About First Christmas After Death of Son in Attempt to Destigmatize Grief

Comedian Rob Delaney, who tragically lost his two-year-old son Henry to brain cancer earlier this year, posted about his first Christmas without his son and wants to destigmatize grief.

The 41-year-old Catastrophe writer took to Twitter and wrote, “Our first Christmas without Henry came & went. The day itself was okay, maybe because there were so many horrible, painful days leading up to it; we must have hit our quota or something. We talked about him a lot & included his memory throughout the day.”

“I speak publicly about Henry in an effort to destigmatize grief. My family is sad & in pain because our beautiful 2 yr old boy died after a long illness. Why wouldn’t we be sad? Why wouldn’t we be angry and confused?” he continued.

Rob continued, “Tweets like this aren’t therapeutic to me, nor are they “updates”. I just want other bereaved parents & siblings to feel seen/heard/respected/loved. And maybe they might help someone not schooled in grief support a friend better. I don’t know.”

Rob Delaney's 2-Year-Old Son Passes Away After Brain Cancer Battle

Rob Delaney‘s two-year-old son Henry has sadly passed away after a battle with brain cancer.

The 41-year-old Catastrophe took to his Facebook to share a heartbreaking post, revealing that the toddler passed away last month.

“I have very sad news. My two and a half year year old son Henry has passed away. Henry had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016, shortly after his first birthday, following persistent vomiting and weight loss. He had surgery to remove the tumor and further treatment through the early part of 2017. Then the cancer returned last autumn and he died in January,” Rob wrote.

He added that the family, including his wife and Henry‘s older brothers, are “devastated of course.

Henry was a joy. He was smart, funny, and mischievous and we had so many wonderful adventures together, particularly after he’d moved home following fifteen months living in hospitals,” Rob wrote.

He went on to thank the nurses, doctors and charity workers who helped Henry and reminded him that “there is good in this world.”

Our thoughts are with Rob and his family and friends during this difficult time.
