Patrick Wilson and Charlie Plummer have joined the cast of director Roland Emmerich‘s upcoming sci-fi thriller Moonfall.

Halle Berry and Josh Gad are already on board for the project, which is another end-of-the-world movie for Emmerich.

Moonfall “is set in motion when the moon is knocked from its orbit by a mysterious force and set on a collision course with Earth. With just weeks to go before impact, a ragtag team is sent on a seemingly impossible mission to land on the lunar surface and save humanity,” according to THR.

Patrick is set to “play a disgraced former NASA astronaut whose last mission, which ended in tragedy, holds a clue about the impending catastrophe.” Charlie will be playing his teenage son.

The movie is scheduled to start production this fall in Montreal.

Mandy Moore and Luke Evans pose for a cute photo while attending the premiere of their new movie Midway on Tuesday (November 5) at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, Calif.

The movie has a star-studded cast and more stars in attendance included Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, Aaron Eckhart, Nick Jonas, Luke Kleintank, James Carpinello, Mark Rolston, Geoffrey Blake, Matthew MacCaull, Brandon Sklenar, and Kenny Leu.

Director Roland Emmerich also walked the red carpet.

Midway centers on the Battle of Midway, a clash between the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy which marked a pivotal turning point in the Pacific Theater during WWII. The film, based on the real-life events of this heroic feat, tells the story of the leaders and soldiers who used their instincts, fortitude and bravery to overcome the odds. The movie hits theaters on November 8.

Liam Hemsworth is brooding and handsome while stepping out at a photo call for Independence Day: Resurgence on Wednesday (June 29) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 26-year-old actor posed alongside his co-stars Maika Monroe and Jeff Goldblum, as well as director Roland Emmerich.

“#FriendsWithBenefits,” Liam captioned a funny alien photo that day, which you can see below.
