How Much Money Do Royal Families Actually Receive? Find Out The Shocking Numbers!

It’s not exactly a secret that many of the royal families of Europe are well off. But have you ever wondered where they get that wealth or how much they get at all?

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the British royal family, many conversations have circled around their wealth.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had received an allowance from the Duchy of Cornwall, via Prince Charles, since leaving the family in April. Now though, the couple have paid off their debts and signed a huge streaming deal with Netflix.

It was also recently revealed just how much of an allowance The Netherlands‘ crown princess Catharina-Amalia would be earning this year.

The still 17-year-old Princess of Orange is set to receive 111,000 euros (the equivalent of about $130,000) in 2021. The allowance will go to pay for her income, operations and personnel expenses.

In 2022, that allowance amount will increase to 1.5 million euros, when she will also be the Advisory Division of the Council of State of the Netherlands.

Catharina-Amalia is only the fourth person to receive state funds, joining her father, King Willem-Alexander, mom Queen Máxima and grandmother, Princess Beatrix.

Hillary Clinton Calls UK Tabloids Treatment of Meghan Markle 'Outrageous' Following Her Interview with Oprah Winfrey

Hillary Clinton is opening up about her thoughts after watching Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey over the weekend, and slamming the treatment of the couple, particularly Meghan, by British tabloids.

“I found it so heart-rending to watch,” the former Secretary of State said during a Washington Post Live event on Monday (March 8).

Hillary added that it was particularly “heartbreaking” that Meghan was not “fully embraced” not just by “the permanent bureaucracy that surrounds the royal family, but by the media in the UK.”

She continued, “You know I’ve had my time in the box with the British tabloids, as anybody who is in the public eye has had. And their cruelty in going after Meghan was just outrageous and the fact she did not get more support, that the reaction was, ‘Let’s just paper it over and pretend that it didn’t happen or it will go away, just keep your head down.’ Well, you know, this young woman was not about to keep her head down. You know, this is 2021 and she wanted to live her life, she wanted to be fully engaged and she had every right to hope for that.”

Hillary also urged media to make space for up and coming young people, “particularly young women, who should not be forced into a mold that is no longer relevant, not only for them, but for our society.”

She notes of the interview that it was “heartbreaking to see the two of them sitting there having to describe how difficult it was to be accepted, to be integrated, not just into the royal family as they described, but more painfully into the larger societies whose narrative is driven by tabloids that are living in the past.”

Hillary concluded, “I just hope that there will be some serious thoughtful consideration in all of the institutions, not just in response to what Meghan and Harry were talking about, but literally across all of our societies.”

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Have Been Living Off His Inheritance From Princess Diana

Prince Harry revealed that he had been cut off financially from the royal family upon his exit last year during his sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, alongside wife Meghan Markle.

This left many fans to wonder just how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were getting money from and Harry answered it.

He says that he and Meghan have been living off the inheritance left for him by his late mother, Princess Diana.

“I’ve got what my mum left me, and without that, we would not have been able to do this,” Harry shared after speaking about how she would have reacted to him leaving his royal duties behind.

He added that he also thinks Diana probably saw him leaving “coming. I certainly felt her presence throughout this whole process.”

After her tragic passing, Diana left an inheritance for both Harry and his older brother William in a trust, which totaled about £14 million, which is about $19.3 million. It was expected to be divided equally between them.

After the brothers turned 30, they gained access to them and since Harry is now 36, he has access.

In a newly released clip from the interview that did not air during the broadcast, Harry opened up about the current status of his relationship with the royal family and if anyone had apologized to them. See what he said here…

What Is Prince Harry's Last Name? The Answer Is Complicated!

Have you ever wondered what Prince Harry‘s last name is? Well, it turns out the answer is pretty complicated.

Due to his royal status, Harry doesn’t technically have a normal surname. The royal family’s website states that “members of the Royal Family can be known both by the name of the Royal house, and by a surname, which are not always the same. And often they do not use a surname at all.”

On his son Archie‘s birth certificate, Harry‘s name is listed as His Royal Highness Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex.

However, according to an article from The Telegraph in 2011, Harry adopted the last name “Wales” and went by Captain Harry Wales during his military service.

Even though Harry technically doesn’t have a last name, Archie uses Mountbatten-Windsor, a name that royals began using in 1960 when Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip decided they wanted their non-titled descendants to have a designated surname.

Now that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have decided to step down as senior royals, it is unclear what Harry will choose to use as his surname moving forward.

The couple reportedly risks losing their royal titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex for breaking their “Megxit deal” with the upcoming interview set to air later tonight (March 7).

Prince William & Kate Middleton Join Other Royal Family Members in Commonwealth Day Broadcast

Prince William and Kate Middleton joined many of their royal family in appearing in the Commonwealth Day broadcast on Sunday (March 7).

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared during the broadcast and spoke with Dr. Zolelwa Sifumba, a frontline healthcare worker based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

“This #CommonwealthDay The Duke and Duchess spoke with medical, charity and voluntary staff from across the Commonwealth to hear more about the work they have been carrying out to care for those within their communities,” the Cambridges’ Kensington Royal shared along with a snippet of the virtual chat on Instagram.

Just before their chat aired, William‘s father, Prince Charles, spoke from Westminster Abbey and praised the people throughout the Commonwealth during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Amidst such heart-breaking suffering, however, the extraordinary determination, courage and creativity with which people have responded has been an inspiration to us all,” he said.

Queen Elizabeth opened up the broadcast with a message on unity.

“Over the coming week, as we celebrate the friendship, spirit of unity and achievements of the Commonwealth, we have an opportunity to reflect on a time like no other,” Her Majesty said. “The testing times experienced by so many have led to a deeper appreciation of the mutual support and spiritual sustenance we enjoy by being connected to others.”

Meghan Markle Is Accusing The Royal Family Of Something Big In New Tell-All Interview Promo

A new sneak peek of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey was just released.

In the new snippet, the Duchess of Sussex is accusing the Palace of “perpetuating falsehoods” about them.

Oprah asks Meghan about her thoughts of Buckingham Palace’s reactions to her “speaking her truth.”

Meghan responds, “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.”

She adds, “If that comes with risk of losing things, there is a lot that has been lost already.”

Earlier this week, the Palace released a new statement following the story that Meghan had bullied two royal aides when she was a working senior royal.

It comes just after Meghan‘s own statement about being saddened that the accusations were brought up just days before her and Harry‘s interview.

Harry and Meghan‘s interview will air on March 7 on CBS.

Meghan Markle Responds To Bullying Claims Made By Royal Aides Just Days Ahead of Oprah Winfrey Interview

Meghan Markle is reportedly saddened over allegations that she bullied royal aides.

A feature from The Times claims that the Duchess of Sussex was named a a bully by one of her close advisers during her time as a working royal at Kensington Palace.

After the report was published, the Sussexes‘ spokesperson has refuted the accusations.

“The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma,” the rep shared, via a statement with People.

They added, “She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.”

The complaint was filed in October 2018 by Meghan and husband Prince Harry‘s former communications secretary Jason Knauf, and stated that two personal assistants were driven out of the household and undermined the confidence of a third staff member.

The report also claimed that Meghan had reduced them to tears at times.

The report comes just days before Meghan and Harry‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey is set to air on CBS, following their official exit as working royals from the family.

Earlier today, Meghan was awarded a large sum of money from her recent lawsuit with UK tabloids.
