Maggie Gyllenhaal's 40th Birthday Was Very Significant to Her

Maggie Gyllenhaal walks the red carpet at the European premiere of Netflix’s The Kindergarten Teacher during the 2018 BFI London Film Festival on Thursday (October 18) in London, England.

The 40-year-old actress was joined by the film’s writer and director Sara Colangelo. You can stream the movie now on Netflix!

Maggie recently opened up to the Los Angeles Times about the significance of her 40th birthday, which was last November.

“I took it really seriously,” she said. “I feel like it was an amazing thing to turn 40. I made it a marking of really growing up. I see women who are older than me who are alive, who are really living, and accept their age and experience. I have so much admiration for the way they’ve digested it all.”
