Annie Murphy Has Been Bribing Dan Levy To Write a 'Schitt's Creek' Movie

Annie Murphy is not above bribing her TV brother Dan Levy to get him to start writing a Schitt’s Creek movie.

The 35-year-old Emmy-winning actress revealed that she’s actually been sending him $5 a day as an incentive.

“I’ve been sending Dan $5 a day in the mail as a bribe,” Annie shared on US Weekly‘s podcast. “So far, I have not heard back about a movie officially.”

Annie is still excited about the possibility of getting a movie one day.

“My God, I would be just over the moon if that ever came to pass because I miss everyone so much every day,” she adds. “Just to see Moira again, I would pay a lot of money to do that.”

'Schitt's Cheek' Actor Dan Levy Calls Out Comedy Central India for Censoring Gay Kissing Scene

Dan Levy is calling out Comedy Central India.

The 37-year-old Schitt’s Creek actor spoke out after the network’s social media account removed a scene that included two men kissing.

“You showed the kiss between two women, you showed the kiss between a woman and a man, then removed the kiss between two men? This is a show about the power of inclusivity. The censorship of gay intimacy is making a harmful statement against that message #loveislove,” he wrote in response.

In the clip, his character David plays spin the bottle alongside Dustin Milligan‘s Ted, as well as Emily Hampshire‘s Stevie, Annie Murphy‘s Alexis and Noah Reid‘s character Patrick. A kiss between Stevie and Alexis is shown, but when Ted’s spin lands on David, the actual kiss is cut from the clip.

“I thought I made this pretty clear but for those who are confused, this is about a channel in India. @ComedyCentral in America is not censoring the show. They have been lovely and respectful. Thank you for your time,” he clarified.

Dan Levy Reveals What Could Inspire Him To Write A 'Schitt's Creek' Movie

Schitt’s Creek wrapped up a six season run earlier this year on PopTV before going on to sweeping the 2020 Emmy Awards last night.

The show won in all four major comedy acting categories, plus Best Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing as well.

After the wins, Dan Levy opened up about the possibility of expanding the series with a movie down the road.

“Oh my gosh. Here’s the thing: Some people have been asking that,” he shared during the virtual backstage to press. However, he reiterated what he has been saying since earlier this year and that the series finale was “the best way we could’ve ever ended the show.”

However, he’s not ruling a movie totally out.

“If there is an idea that pops into my head and worthy of these wonderful people, it has to be really freaking good at this point,” Dan added. “This is a really nice way of saying goodbye. Fingers crossed that we get a really good idea coming into our heads soon.

“I would love to work with these beautiful people again. This has been the most incredible experience,” he concluded.

Catherine O’Hara is a winner!

The 66-year-old won her first acting Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2020 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 20) for her portrayal of Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek.

After the ceremony, Catherine joked that her outlandish and over the top character “would have accepted the ‘Emmanuel’ in a very different way.”

“I think Moira would’ve done some kind of acceptance from the bed, like Joan Crawford,” Catherine shared with People. “Something very dramatic. I’m lucky I’m not her. I got to be with my friends.”

Catherine continued: “I love that idea that maybe Moira would have accepted —virtually, with no audience— and imagined they were [giving a standing ovation] in their homes.”

Speaking in her Moira accent, Catherine imagined the Rose matriarch saying something like, “‘Please, sit down! Please, sit down! I must continue! Please! I have some thank yous!’”

Schitt’s Creek was the big winner of the night, sweeping all seven trophies in the Comedy categories.
