The 57-year-old “If It Makes You Happy” singer made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday night (September 11).
During her appearance, Sheryl was asked about Taylor‘s masters controversy after signing with Big Machine Records in Nashville.
“I’m going to be honest with you…I stay out of that world. I will say one thing about masters, like I signed with a record label 30 years ago…these things, that’s just the way the business goes. That’s totally not unusual for your masters to change hands like 9,000 times. I don’t know what the big stink was. I’m kind of out of the loop, so I don’t really know,” she said.
Sheryl Crow hits the stage while performing during the Today Show’s Citi Concert Series on Friday morning (September 6) in New York City.
The 57-year-old singer performed her songs “Prove You Wrong” and “Still the Good Ole Days,” and she even showed off a special skill.
During the “Fun Fact Friday” segment, Sheryl revealed that she is baton twirler!
“My fun fact is, and for you who have scoured the internet, some of you already know that I was an excellent twirler when I was young. A baton twirler. I can twirl two batons. I can twirl fire. It’s not something that I do every day anymore, so I’m pretty rusty,” she said.
Sheryl joked that if her “music ever fails,” that she has something to fall back on!

The collaboration is the latest track to be released from the 57-year-old singer’s final album Threads, which is set to be released this Summer.
“I started this project about three years ago, and it started with Kris Kristofferson and recording with him. And I’ve known him for many, many years, and I started feeling like, ‘You know what? I want to start calling in people that I’ve loved and have inspired me from the very beginning.’ So one of the first people I thought of was Stevie Nicks. I sent her this song and said, ‘Would you record with me?’ And she did and it was just a beautiful experience,” Sheryl told iHeartRadio.
“Then I felt like, ‘You know what would be really cool is to be able to pay it forward to someone who I feel like is an extension of Stevie and I’,” Sheryl continued about getting Maren involved. “We both grew up loving rock and roll. Maren is a really tough, but super sweet, great songwriter, great musician, and I think she’s going to be around for a long time. I’ve loved getting to know her and getting to work with her. So, I asked her if she would be a part of this collaboration that Stevie and I did, and that’s how ‘Prove You Wrong’ came about.”
“Prove You Wrong” is also available on Spotify and download on iTunes now!
