Bridgerton's Newest Star Simone Ashley Joins Jonathan Bailey & Nicola Coughlan at Wimbledon!

The cast of Bridgerton stepped out together to attend the latest round of competition at Wimbledon!

Jonathan Bailey and Nicola Coughlan were joined by the show’s new star Simone Ashley while attending Polo Ralph Lauren & British Vogue‘s day at the tournament on Monday (July 5) in London, England.

The two brands hosted lunch, tennis and afternoon tea at The Championships.

Over the weekend, Nicola won the Screen Ireland Rising Star award at the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Film & Drama Awards. She wrote on Instagram, “I flippin won the Rising Star #IFTA and gave a speech where I for some reason thanked Paul Mescal who I have never worked with in my life. It is such an unbelievable honour I’m so grateful thank you thank you @iftaacademy!”

The second season of Bridgerton has officially started filming and the first photos from set have been released online!

Jonathan Bailey, who is reprising his role as Anthony Bridgerton, was seen on set with his new on-screen love interest Simone Ashley, who is playing the new character Kate Sharma.

Mindy Kaling Reacts to Simone Ashley's 'Bridgerton' Casting!

Simone Ashley was cast in one of the leading roles for season two of Bridgerton and the news quickly went viral as it is Netflix‘s biggest show to date!

The show’s creator, Chris Van Dusen, tweeted out the news, writing, “Meet Miss Kate Sharma, #Bridgerton fans. Get ready, Viscount. #BridgertonSeasonTwo #HereWeGo.”

Well, actress Mindy Kaling reacted to the news and called it the “absolute coolest.”

“The absolute coolest. A feisty young British-Tamil lady in this world! Didn’t think I could more excited for next season,” Mindy said.

'Bridgerton' Season 2 Casting News: Simone Ashley to Play Female Lead Opposite Jonathan Bailey

Big casting news for the second season of Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton was just announced!

Simone Ashley has landed the lead female role in season two of the Shondaland show, based on the novels by Julia Quinn.

Season two will follow Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his search for love. Deadline reports that Simone has been cast as his romantic interest Kate Sharma.

“Newly arrived in London, Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included,” the outlet reported. The character in the Bridgerton book series is named Kate Sheffield, but the television series will have the character be from Indian descent.

Russell Tovey stars in the new Hulu series The Sister and the show’s first trailer has arrived!

The 39-year-old British actor is best known to American audiences for his work on the HBO series Looking and the ABC series Quantico.

Here is the synopsis of the Hulu series: “How far would you go to keep a secret? One rainy evening, Nathan is surprised by an unwelcome face from the past. Nathan has never been able to forget the worst night of his life: a party that led to the sudden, shocking death of a young woman. Only he and Bob, an eccentric old acquaintance, know what really happened… and they’ve resolved to keep it that way. But years later, Bob appears at Nathan’s door with terrifying news that threatens to tear Nathan’s world apart. Because Nathan has his own secrets now. Secrets that could destroy everything he has desperately fought to build for himself and his family.”

Also starring in the series are Tony Award winner Bertie Carvel, Amrita Acharia, Nina Toussaint-White, Amanda Root, Paul Bazely, and Simone Ashley.

The Sister originally aired on ITV back in October. All four episodes will debut on Hulu on January 22.
