Simone Biles is making history!
The 24-year-old gymnast won her seventh-straight all-around title at the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships on Sunday (June 6) in Ft. Worth, Texas.
With this seventh win, Simone remains undefeated at the nationals since 2013 and becomes the first American woman to win the title seven times.
“It’s really emotional, especially going into my second time doing an Olympic run,” Simone said after winning the title. “It’s really crazy, and I appreciate everyone that’s come out to watch and support us, especially after the year we’ve had.”
During the weekend event, Simone compiled a total score of 119.650. In addition to the all-around title, Simone also won titles in the vault, balance beam, and floor.

Simone Biles just pulled off one of the most insane gymnastics moves ever!
The 24-year-old athlete is still in training ahead of the 2021 Summer Olympics which are to be held in Tokyo.
In the new video shared by the Olympic Channel, Simone is seen running towards the vault to attempt the Yurchenko double pike, which has never been pulled off by a woman – until today.
“Simone Biles just landed her Yurchenko double pike in podium training and we are SPEECHLESS,” the Twitter account boasted of Simone.

Simone has been practicing the move since 2020, but it’s not clear if she’ll perform the move at the Olympics.
“We’re really excited about it,” she told USA Today Sports last month. “It’s really consistent.”
The vault move was named after Natalia Yurchenko, who first performed the move in the 1980s, and landed it in a single flip. Simone‘s version adds an extra one.
The move has never been performed by a female gymnast in a competition.
