Soko is a staunch gluten-free, sugar-free vegan and wanted to share one of her favorite baking recipes with Just Jared readers – “chocolate chip cookies”!

“These cookies are based on a minimalist baker recipe,” the French singer-songwriter told us. “I love it because they have a lot of vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free options. All of their foods are super easy to make. I altered the recipe a bit to add flax meal for more chewiness and Omega-3s. And add cacao nibs for more crunch! It feels like the perfect guilt free snack and my baby [Indigo] loves it too! The healthiest, simplest and yummiest vegan chewy cookies ever ever.”

Soko picks up two pizzas and a bag of take-out food from plant-based, queer-owned restaurant Jewel in Silver Lake, Los Angeles on Monday (June 29).

The French singer-songwriter wore an orange Versace button-down, Alexander McQueen shoes, Gucci bag and Pizza Slime‘s “Erewhon” sweatpants.

“With the catastrophic rise of the Covid numbers in LA, we’re back into a bit of paranoia,” Soko recently penned on Instagram. “Summer is here. My baby is 20 months old today. We miss our friends. I’ve been a little depressed about the state of the world which makes it hard to focus on my album release.. But.. i really can’t wait for it to be out and for you to be able to listen to all the songs.. i have another video coming out in a few days.. I wish i could vote in the US and participate in voting Trump out in November. ( I can’t, coz I’m French, but if you can, please do ! ) I wish i could play shows right now. I miss my band, i miss all of you.. I hope you’re keeping yourselves safe and sane. Big love to you and yours.”

Soko stops to grab organic groceries using reusable bags at Erewhon supermarket on Thursday (June 25) in Los Angeles.

The French singer/songwriter wore a chic Celine ensemble – top, vest, sunglasses, “Triomphe” bag and shoes.

To celebrate Pride Month, Soko just released the self-directed video for “Oh To Be A Rainbow,” a song from her upcoming third album, Feel Feelings, out July 10th. “This is my gay anthem!” she shared of the song. “Let it be known! It’s about turning all of my very straight girlfriends not so straight anymore! And about not wanting to be saved through a relationship but really wanting someone equal.”

In case you missed it, Soko just performed “Are You A Magician?” during quarantine inside a virtual house.

Soko is sharing an exciting, live performance of her new song “Are You A Magician?” exclusively for Just Jared readers.

“I’ve never actually played “Are you a Magician?” live with my band,” shared the French singer/songwriter. “And because of quarantine, we couldn’t actually record all together online because of bad internet connections, so we had to figure out a way to each play individually in our house, in different rooms. I was singing in my baby’s toy karaoke mic! So the video is all of us playing in different room of a little doll house, in reference to the official music video for the song directed by Gia Coppola.”

Celebrities are calling out and reacting to the Trump Administration allowing a bill to move forward to the Supreme Court which would give adoption agencies the right to refuse LGBTQ couples to adopt a child.

In the bried, that was filed this week, the DOJ is arguing that “cities should not be able to protect LGBTQ+ couples from discrimination by religious organizations.”

It all dates back to 2018 when Catholic Social Services sued the city of Philadelphia. CSS refused to place a child with a same sex couple, which went against their contract with the city that stated they must abide by nondiscrimination policies.

The case is now pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.

The DOJ’s brief claims that “The City impermissibly targeted religious organizations … the city focused only on religious agencies, making just a single inquiry to a secular foster-care agency. … City officials made no effort to determine whether other secular agencies perform home studies for everyone who requests them.”

Many celebs are slamming the administration for allowing the case to go to the Supreme Court at all.

“Tax dollars should not be used to discriminate. Period,” Pete Buttigieg, who is gay and a former Presidential hopeful, wrote on Twitter in regards to the news.

Soko is getting ready to drop her third full-length studio album, Feel Feelings!

The 34-year-old French singer, songwriter, and actress will be releasing the album on June 12 and she just dropped the song “Are You a Magician” along with its music video.

Filmmaker Gia Coppola directed the video, which sees Soko magically bringing a stuffed animal to life and creating a picture-perfect life with her new companion only to have her creation ghost her.

Soko said, “I couldn’t figure out how to get the video to reflect the song’s themes for a long time, not until Gia and I sat in my baby’s room and listened to the song a few times and came up with the whole concept while playing with Indigo’s toys. The goal for me was to be a like a Victorian goth sailor moon princess who listens to Kate Bush a little too much.”
