Steve Martin made a surprise appearance at his Broadway show Bright Star on Friday (May 13) and the crowd went wild!
For those that don’t know, the 70-year-old actor is also an acclaimed musician and he co-wrote the music for the new musical, which is nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Musical.
Steve is nominated for two Tonys – Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score.
When the curtain went up for the entr’acte after intermission, Steve was standing on the stage with his banjo and played for about two minutes. The crowd erupted into applause when they saw him on stage and he even got a standing ovation. Watch the video below and go see Bright Star now on Broadway!
“My secret longing to play with the Bright Star band was fulfilled last night,” Steve tweeted that night.
