Movie Directors J.J. Abrams & Steven Spielberg Spotted Having a Dinner Meeting!

J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg are definitely two of the most acclaimed directors in the world right now and they just met up for a dinner meeting!

The two filmmakers posed for photos while leaving Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi on Wednesday night (June 23) in Santa Monica, Calif.

J.J. was actually at the same restaurant last week with a very famous actress!

J.J. and Steven have known each other for years. If you didn’t know, Steven was a producer on the movie Super 8, which was written, directed, and co-produced by J.J.

Another connection that the guys share is Kathleen Kennedy. For those who don’t know, she was Steven‘s producing partner for decades, but the she took over the Star Wars franchise and worked with J.J. to reboot it!

Paul Dano to Play Steven Spielberg's Father in Film About Director's Life

Paul Dano has signed on to play a reimagined version of Steven Spielberg‘s father in the film loosely based on the director’s life.

THR notes that the character will be based on his dad but “with a separate and original voice.”

If you don’t know, Spielberg is working with screenwriter Tony Kushner on turning his life into a movie. He will also direct the film, which is expected to begin filming this summer and be released in 2022. Fun fact: Spielberg hasn’t written a screenplay since 2001′s A.I.: Artificial Intelligence.

Seth Rogen will play Steven‘s uncle and Michelle Williams will play Steven‘s mom.

Seth Rogen to Play Steven Spielberg's Uncle in Movie About the Director's Childhood

Seth Rogen has joined the cast of Steven Spielberg‘s next movie, which is loosely based on the legendary director’s childhood.

The 38-year-old Pineapple Express actor will be playing the role of Spielberg‘s favorite uncle, according to Deadline.

Michelle Williams will be playing the role inspired by Spielberg‘s mom.

Spielberg hasn’t written a screenplay since 2001′s A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, but he is working with screenwriter Tony Kushner on turning his life into a movie. He will also direct the film, which is expected to begin filming this summer and be released in 2022.

After the casting news was announced, Rachel Zegler, the star of Spielberg‘s upcoming West Side Story movie, tweeted, “i really thought seth was joining us in west side story somehow for a second.”

Seth responded to the tweet and said, “I did too.” Rachel then said, “for what it’s worth i think you’d be a really strong riff (congratulations on this super cool gig).” Seth replied, “Thanks! I can’t sing or dance and have trouble talking too.”

Michelle Williams Is in Talks to Star in Steven Spielberg Movie Based on His Life!

Michelle Williams might be working with Steven Spielberg soon!

The 40-year-old actress is “in talks” to star in an upcoming untitled picture directed by the Jaws director, Deadline reported Tuesday (March 7).

“Sources tell Deadline that Spielberg is coming on to direct an untitled pic at Amblin Partners that is loosely based on his childhood growing up in Arizona. Insiders add that Michelle Williams is in negotiations to star in a major role inspired by his mom but with a separate and original voice,” the outlet reported.

This will mark the first time that Steven will also participate in screenwriting, and he will co-write with Tony Kushner. The film is set to film this summer, and expected to be released sometime in 2022.

This will mark the first time that Steven has ever told the full story of his early years.

“By the top of 2021, he made the decision to tell his story on the big screen and began talking with talent about who would take part in the project, with Williams ultimately blowing him away after recent meetings,” Deadline went on to report of the potential casting.

Michelle Williams is also attached to play a famous person from the past in an upcoming biopic!
