Robinhood's Super Bowl 2021 Commercial Seems Odd After GameStop Drama

The stock-trading app Robinhood aired a commercial during the 2021 Super Bowl and the timing seems a bit odd after what just happened with the company.

The commercial shows all different types of people in their everyday lives to highlight that “we are all investors.”

“The world of finance is changing—and we’re staying true to our mission. We’re in this for the early morning jogger. The midday study breaker. The late-night nursery rhymer. Because you already invest in yourself every day. We are all investors,” the YouTube description for the ad says.

The timing of the commercial is odd because just days ago, Robinhood blocked investors who bought GameStop stock from trading it amid the rise in price. The company was criticized for the move because it seemingly helped the people on Wall Street while hurting the small investors at home.

One celeb has spoken out about the amount of money he lost during the GameStop drama, though it’s not clear where he was buying and trading his stock.

Watch Anheuser-Busch's First-Ever Super Bowl Commercial: ‘Let’s Grab a Beer’ (Video)

Anheuser-Busch show how many of life’s little moments are spent commiserating over a beer in their debut Super Bowl commercial.

The ad opens with a bride and groom clinking bottles and laughing as it rains on their wedding day.

A voice narrates, “So when you say ‘let’s grab a beer’, it’s never just about the beer.”

The commercial goes on to show similar special moments spent sharing a beer, from a group of strangers stuck in an airport together to a staff member invited to sit in on an important meeting. In one scene, a couple sit with their beers on opposite ends of the couch, presumably after a fight.

The narration closes with, “It’s never just about the beer. It’s about the saying that simple human truth, ‘we need each other.’”

Bruce Springsteen Teams Up With Jeep For His First Commercial Super Bowl Appearance

Bruce Springsteen rides around in his own Jeep in the middle of the county in Jeep’s Super Bowl Commercial.

The 71-year-old musician calls for unity in his voice over for the motor company’s ad which was shot over three states – Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska – in five days in January.

“All are more than welcome to come meet here in the middle,” he says. “It’s no secret the middle has been a hard place to get to lately, between red and blue, between servant and citizen, between our freedom and our fear.

“Fear has never been the best of who we are,” Bruce contines. “We just have to remember the very soil we stand on is common ground. So we can get there. We can make it to the mountaintop, through the desert …and we will cross this divide.”

He goes on, “We just have to remember the very soil we stand on is common ground, so we can get there. We can make it to the mountaintop through the desert, and we will cross this divide. Our light has always found its way through the darkness. And there’s hope on the road up ahead.”

The ad marks Bruce‘s first foray into commercial advertising.

Fiverr is poking some fun at former President Donald Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani!

For their 2021 Super Bowl commercial, the company – which connects businesses with freelance services such as website and logo design and writing services – decided to help The Four Seasons Total Landscaping rebrand their company.

If you forgot, Trump‘s lawyer Giuliani held a press conference outside of the Four Seasons Total Landscaping after Trump lost the election. The press conference was supposed to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel, but someone obviously booked the wrong place.

For the Super Bowl commercial, Fiverr decided to re-create the outside of the company’s building in order to promote their their new It Starts Here’ Campaign – to help small businesses that are hurting amid the pandemic.

In the commercial, Four Seasons Total Landscaping owner Marie Siravo appears to promote Fiverr while debuting her newly rebranded “Four Seasons Total Landscaping & Press Venue!” business.

“Fiverr gets that,” Marie says in the commercial. “From graphic design, to web development, or even a PR expert for things like — I don’t know — booking a press conference.”

Later in the commercial, a woman looks around the business before asking Marie, “Is this the lobby?”

Marie then responds with “this is not a hotel.”
