Terry Crews also will return as host. The Season 16 premiere date will be announced at a later date. However, the last seven seasons have all started airing at the end of May, so it seems likely that Season 16 will do the same.

AGT will be having a final nationwide “Last Chance Audition” for the upcoming season on Saturday (March 6), which interested acts can still sign up for at AGTAuditions.com. The best acts from the virtual audition will go on to perform in front of the judges.

Gabrielle Union Slams AGT's Terry Crews Again, He Apologizes for Third Time

Gabrielle Union is slamming her former America’s Got Talent co-star Terry Crews once again.

The actress and former AGT judge was interviewed on the Spotify podcast Jemele Hill Is Unbothered and she was asked about Terry‘s recent criticisms of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Terry recently received backlash over a tweet he wrote about “black supremacy.” A few weeks later he tweeted, “If you are a child of God, you are my brother and sister. I have family of every race, creed and ideology. We must ensure [black lives matter] doesn’t morph into [black lives better.]” He then went on CNN and debated the purpose of the movement.

Earlier this year, Terry made comments about Gabrielle‘s firing from AGT and he received a ton of backlash, including some from her.

In the new podcast interview, Gabrielle reflected on everything that has happened with Terry.

She said, “People hit me all day long and are like, what’s happening? And the only thing I know for sure is that Terry Crews gets three checks from NBC. So, I don’t know if being worried about job stability — which listen, we all know that if you speak up about racism and white supremacy, you absolutely can be shown the door. I don’t know if that’s the motivation.”

“Based on his recent actions, do you really think Terry Crews was an ally, was helpful, was a sounding board? I think Terry Crews is showing us who he is and what he does during times of adversity and it’s not solidarity,” she added.

After Gabrielle made claims of a toxic environment behind the scenes at AGT, NBC investigated the claims and decided that she wasn’t the victim of discrimination.

“At the end of the day, the work that I am doing to make sure that NBC is a more fair and equitable place of employment will benefit you [Crews] as well,” Gabrielle said (via Deadline). “So it’s OK to eat your cereal and let me do my thing and get out of the way. If you’re not going to help, then get out of the way. If you don’t feel financially comfortable, or spiritually comfortable or you flat out disagree, but at the end of the day he will benefit from a safer, more equitable workplace from what I stuck my neck out to do and got fired for, you know? Instead of actively working against progress.”

Terry Crews Debates Purpose of Black Lives Matter With CNN's Don Lemon

Don Lemon and Terry Crews went back and forth on the debate over Black Lives Matter during Monday night’s episode of CNN Tonight.

The CNN commentator and AGT host debated about the true intentions of the BLM movement and the reason Terry‘s recent tweets have been the subject of many other debates.

“The Black Lives Matter movement was started because it was about police brutality,” Don said. “If you want an All Black Lives Matter movement that talks about gun violence in…Black communities, then start that movement with that name. But that’s not what Black Lives Matter is about.”

“If someone started a movement that said Cancer Matters and then someone comes in and says, ‘Why aren’t you talking about HIV’, it’s not the same thing,” he added.

Terry disagreed, saying, “Here’s the thing. It’s a great mantra. It’s a true mantra. Black lives do matter but when you’re talking about an organization, you’re talking about the leaders, you’re talking about the people who are responsible for putting these things together.”

“Black people need to hold other Black people accountable. This is the Black America’s version of the MeToo movement. If anything is going to change, our ourselves need to look at our own communities and look at each other and say this thing cannot go down,” he added.

Terry has been called out by many fans and notable celebrities for his controversial tweets on the situation.

Terry Crews Faces Backlash for Thoughts About Black Lives Matter Movement

“If you are a child of God, you are my brother and sister. I have family of every race, creed and ideology. We must ensure #blacklivesmatter doesn’t morph into #blacklivesbetter,” he wrote.

The tweet garnered a lot of negative reactions and constructive feedback, including a response from Bernice King, the youngest child of Martin Luther King Jr.

“We’re so far from that bridge, Terry. #BlackLivesMatter is, in part, a rallying cry and a protest slogan to galvanize people into doing the justice work needed to derail the deaths, dehumanization and destruction of Black lives that racism causes. Justice is not a competition,” she wrote.

“You are right, @BerniceKing. I just want to make sure it stays that way. No competition, just creativity. #blacklivesmatter,” Terry responded.

Here are ways to help support the Black Lives Matter cause.

Terry went viral earlier in the month for similar sentiments about the movement.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine's New Episodes Scrapped Amid Police Brutality Protests

Police officer comedy show Brooklyn Nine-Nine had four brand new season episodes already written but those episodes have been totally scrapped after the protests against police brutality in order to examine law enforcement’s role in society.

One of the show’s stars Terry Crews spoke about the episodes.

“Our showrunner Dan Goor, they had like four episodes all ready to go — they just threw them in the trash,” Terry told Access. “They’re like, ‘We’ve got to start over.”

“Right now, we don’t know which direction we’re going to go in, but we do know that we’ve had a lot of somber talks, we’ve had a lot of very, very deep conversations, and through this we hope to bring something that could really, really truly be groundbreaking this year,” Terry added. “We have an opportunity here and we plan to use it in the best, best way possible.”

Another TV show is going to be addressing police brutality in 2020 as well.
