Rihanna Ties The Beatles with 59 Weeks at No. 1 on Hot 100

Rihanna has reached an eighth week at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and she has tied The Beatles for the second most weeks at number one on the chart.

Mariah Carey currently holds the lead with 79 weeks at number one with her many chart toppers and now Rihanna and The Beatles are both at number two with 59 weeks each.

Coming in at number two on the chart is Lukas Graham‘s “7 Years” while Meghan Trainor‘s “No” holds at number three.

Zayn Malik‘s “Pillowtalk” is at number four this week while newcomer Desiigner has surged to number five with his debut single “Panda.”

The Beatles' Top 10 Most Streamed Songs on Spotify Revealed

The Beatles‘ music was added to streaming services for the first time on Christmas Eve and fans are loving the new access to the classic songs.

Spotify has been tracking the amount of streams on each song and the company has released a list of the top 10 most played songs in the United States for the first two days of streaming.

The music has been added to over 673,000 playlists on the streaming service and it is said that 65% of the listeners are under the age of 34, according to Billboard.

The Beatles Music Will Be Available to Stream for 1st Time Ever

Music from The Beatles, one of the most famous bands to ever exist, has famously been withheld from all major streaming sites, but the group just made a huge announcement!

“On December 24 at 12:01am local time — here, there and everywhere — The Beatles‘ music is available for streaming worldwide via the following nine services,” their official website read. Apple Music, Deezer, Google Play, Microsoft Groove, Napster / Rhapsody, Amazon Prime Music, Slacker Radio, Spotify, and Tidal will all be streaming The Beatles‘ famous albums. If you don’t know, the members of The Beatles include John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

Some artists have famously kept their music off of streaming sites, such as Taylor Swift and Adele.
