The third season of Amazon’s hit series The Boys is coming soon and the streamer just released the first look at Jensen Ackles in character!

The 43-year-old actor has joined the show as Soldier Boy, hot off his 15-season run on the CW series Supernatural. Check out the full photo in the gallery!

Costume designer Laura Jean Shannon said, “Soldier Boy is the original bad ass. Our goal was to highlight a bygone era of overt masculinity and grit. With that pedigree we dove headfirst into baking in an all-American quality grounded in a military soldier’s practicality with a heavy dose of old school cowboy swagger. We knew that the actor had to have Steve McQueen looks and chops with a John Wayne attitude, luckily Jensen Ackles embodies all of that.”

Showrunner Eric Kripke knew the importance of the Super Suit, saying, “When I cast Jensen as Soldier Boy, the first thing I said was, ‘I’m most excited for you, because of the amazing process you’ll go through with LJ, our Super Suit designer.’ It took six months but the experience surpassed Jensen’s expectations. LJ has made a work of art that tips its hat to the WWII Soldier Boy from the comics, while taking it in a sleek new direction. And if you think the photos are cool, just wait till you see Jensen in action. It’s one of my very favorite suits. Also, now you can quit clogging my Twitter notifications with demands to see it.”

Jensen looked unrecognizable in a recent photo from the set.

Over the weekend, The Boys fans in Los Angeles were treated to an awesome pop-up Planet Vought experience.

Erin Moriarty is showing off her vocal skills in a new music video for her The Boys character Starlight!

The 26-year-old actress appears as her superhero character in the just-released music video for “Never Truly Vanish.”

The song was featured in the season two premiere episode of The Boys and it was written as a tribute to the late character Translucent.

A third season of The Boys is in the works right now, as well as a spin-off series, which will be set “at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (and run by Vought International).”

The first two season of The Boys are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

On Tuesday afternoon (May 11), the 43-year-old Supernatural alum took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo of himself on set of season three of the Amazon series The Boys, and he looks totally different!

Amazon has revealed the first two stars of the upcoming The Boys spinoff – Jaz Sinclair and Lizze Broadway!

The spinoff from the original series will be set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (and run by Vought International), according to Deadline.

It will explore the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities.

Lizze will portray Emma on the show, while Jaz, who you’ll recognize from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, will star as Marie.

“I would say it’s loosely inspired by an element of the comics, which is the G-Men. Part of the G-Men is there’s sort of an educational, college experience,” Eric Kripke told TheWrap about the spinoff recently.

He added that they “just used that as a jumping-off point, kind of similar to ‘The Boys,’ where we sort of take an initial notion and then we are going to run with it in our own weird direction.”

The season two finale of The Boys is out now and the series’ showrunner Eric Kripke is opening up about what fans can expect in the third season.

The third season is going to heavily feature Congresswoman Victoria Neuman’s storyline now that we know she is a supe and is the one responsible for the exploding heads at the congressional hearing. (Read about the Easter egg that is part of her first moment on screen)

“Having broken most of Season 3 I think we have a pretty good idea of where her story goes and why she’s doing what she’s doing,” Eric told Variety. “There are some reveals and twists and turns, and similarly to what we’ve done with a lot of other characters from the books, Vic Neuman was a man in the books and he ends up getting deeper and deeper into politics as the comics go on. It’s the frightening notion that there might be a supe heading deep into American politics, which is screwed up enough already. So we start to play Victoria in that way in Season 3.”

The season two finale of Amazon Prime Video’s hit series The Boys is currently streaming and the showrunner Eric Kripke is speaking out about some things you may have missed while watching!

At the end of the season two finale, a big twist revealed that Congresswoman Victoria Neuman (played by Claudia Doumit) is actually a supe and she was the one who made everyone’s heads explode at the Vought hearing.

Eric has revealed that there was an Easter egg at the beginning of the season that hinted at Victoria being responsible for the exploding heads this season.

TVLine asked if Victoria was really the one exploding all the heads and Eric said, “Yes, of course, she was. Her eyes were pulsing off-camera. But we tell everyone in Episode 1, if you go back after Raynor’s head explodes and they jumped in the van, Frenchie’s line is like, ‘Who do you know who can do this?!’ and we cut to Victoria. She’s literally introduced with us saying like, ‘Here she is. This is the one who can do this.’ Yeah, she blew up Congress.”

The season two finale of Amazon Prime Video’s smash-hit series The Boys is now streaming and there’s so much to recap from that explosive episode.

Throughout the second season, we followed Homelander (Antony Starr) and his relationship with the son (Cameron Crovetti) that he just learned exists, whose mother is Becca Butcher (Shantel VanSanten), aka the long-lost wife of The Boys leader Billy Butcher (Karl Urban).

Homelander also began a relationship with the Seven’s new member Stormfront (Aya Cash), who we later learned is a white supremacist from Nazi Germany and was the first successful Compound V subject a long time ago.

Starlight (Erin Moriarty) worked alongside The Boys and her boyfriend Hughie (Jack Quaid) to help take down Vought and they even have received some help from Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott).

Also, throughout the season, The Deep (Chace Crawford) and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) have been wrapped up in the Church of the Collective, which is essentially a satirical version of Scientology. They’ve been promised that if they reach higher levels in the church, they’ll get to return to the Seven.
