Trevor Noah Is Paying Salaries of 25 Furloughed 'Daily Show' Staff Members Amid Pandemic

Trevor Noah is helping out his own team in a big way.

The 36-year-old Daily Show host is pitching in by personally paying the salaries of 25 furloughed staff members amid the global health crisis, Variety confirmed on Thursday (April 30).

He reportedly informed crew members that he will continue to pay their salaries until production “begins to ramp back up in the television industry.”

“These are the people who have been on the show with Trevor from day one and help him put on the show. Trevor is personally covering their salaries until the production business opens again. He respects his crew tremendously and feels it’s only right that they get thru this together,” a source told the publication.

He has been hosting a remote version of The Daily Show, called The Daily Social Distancing Show With Trevor Noah, from his home amid the pandemic.

And I’m sure I’ll see you guys before I leave.”

Olivia Munn: I Didn't Book ‘Daily Show’ Because I'm A Woman

Former videogame show host Olivia Munn is the newest regular correspondent on Jon Stewart‘s The Daily Show.

But did she score the gig because she’s a woman? (Jezebel claims The Daily Show has a “woman problem”.)

“When I go into this situation, I don’t think, ‘Oh, great. I’m a woman. This is awesome,’” Olivia told HollywoodLife. “I think, ‘F— yeah, I worked my a– off and somebody recognized it. This is great!’”

“We’re all human beings in this world,” she continued. “We’re all trying to make it from point A to point B, and just trying to f—ing make it. So I think it’s really a disservice to all women when there are women out there who try to compartmentalize us as human beings, saying ‘women’ and ‘men,’ because I’m just out there… I never tried to use anything besides my own sweat and blood and talent to get somewhere.”
