Tom Holland Responds to Rumor That Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Return for 'Spider-Man 3'

Tom Holland was asked about the rumors that Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Kirsten Dunst return for Spider-Man 3. Tobey and Andrew both portrayed Spider-Man in earlier movies, and Kirsten played MJ alongside Tobey.

“I’ve never met Kirsten Dunst,” Tom claimed in an interview with Variety. “I met Andrew once, I met him at the BAFTAs. He was lovely. He was a really nice bloke and we had a nice chat. It was quite soon after Spider-Man: Homecoming had come out. He was really positive and nice. I’ve bumped into Tobey a few times at different parties in LA. He was really nice. They seem to be lovely, really nice people. I hope they enjoy our movies. I hope they enjoy our Spider-Man’s.”

He then was asked if they were in the film and he said, “Beats me, I don’t know. If they are, they never told me yet.”

Marvel has not officially revealed any information on past Spider-Men returning, so we’ll have to wait and see. Tom is no stranger to revealing spoilers by accident! And Tom isn’t the only Marvel star who has spoiled movies before.

“I’ve read some things,” Kevin noted about the rumors surrounding Tobey and Andrew Garfield‘s return to the franchise. “I’m not sure I’ve read all things.”

He added in his interview that “the fun thing about online speculation when it comes to our stuff is how sometimes it couldn’t be more off the mark and sometimes it’s shockingly close, and that’s held true for the last few years. But saying which is which would take all the fun out of everything.”

In the recent months, the studio has addressed the online rumors regarding Tobey and Andrew, as several other characters from their movies are confirmed to be in Spider-Man 3.
