Mahershala Ali Premieres 'True Detective' Season 3

Mahershala Ali stops by the season three premiere of his show True Detective on Saturday (January 12) in San Francisco, Calif.

The 44-year-old actor stars in the third season of the show, which is set to premiere tonight on HBO. Be sure to check out the trailer if you haven’t seen it already to prepare for the big premiere later!

Matthew McConaughey Supports Mahershala Ali & 'True Detective' Cast at Season 3 Premiere!

Matthew McConaughey poses for a photo with fellow Oscar winner Mahershala Ali at the premiere of True Detective season three on Thursday (January 10) at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles.

Matthew starred in the first season of the hit HBO anthology series and Mahershala, who won a Golden Globe this week for Green Book, is the star of season three.

Mahershala was joined at the premiere by co-stars Stephen Dorff, Carmen Ejogo, Sarah Gadon, Ray Fisher, Mamie Gummer, Scoot McNairy, and Deborah Ayorinde.

Westworld‘s Angela Sarafyan also attended the premiere!

Make sure to watch the first episode of season three on Sunday, January 13.

FYI: Angela is wearing a Julien Macdonald dress and an Emm Kuo clutch.

'True Detective' Gets Season 3 Premiere Date

HBO has announced that True Detective‘s third season will premiere on January 13, 2019!

Fans have been anxiously awaiting a new season of the hit show since season two debuted in 2015.

The show will star Mahershala Ali with Stephen Dorff, Carmen Ejogo, and Ray Fisher also starring.

The upcoming third season of the hit HBO series debuts in January 2019, and the teaser trailer just arrived on Sunday (August 26).

Mahershala Ali stars as Arkansas state police detective Wayne Hays in the trailer, seen at three different ages.

“Before you ever knew me, I wasn’t scared much. That wasn’t a fear for me. Things I’ve seen, things I know, wouldn’t do anything but cause harm. My whole brain’s a bunch of missing pieces. My job…. there’s no certainty. This peace… is more haunting than anything. I want to know the whole story,” he says.

The upcoming season co-stars Mamie Gummer, Stephen Dorff and Carmen Ejogo.

Justice League's Ray Fisher Joins 'True Detective' Season 3!

Justice League‘s Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg in the film, will be taking on a series regular role in season three of HBO’s True Detective!

The 30-year-old actor wasn’t the only person announced as joining the cast - Michael Greyeyes, Jon Tenney and Rhys Wakefield are also joining, EW reports! They will all be recurring characters.

Mahershala Ali, Carmen Ejogo, and Stephen Dorff were already announced as starring in the brand new season. Ray will reportedly play Mahershala‘s son in the new season.

No premiere date has been set just yet.

'True Detective' Adds Stephen Dorff for Season 3

True Detective has just added actor Stephen Dorff to the third season of the HBO drama.

The 44-year-old actor will play “Roland West, an Arkansas State Investigator who, along with his partner, has his life and career influenced over three decades by a baffling crime,” according to Variety.

Mahershala Ali and Carmen Ejogo were previously announced as the stars of the third season. Carmen will play a schoolteacher from Arkansas who has a connection to two missing children in 1980. Mahershala will play a detective from the area.

Carmen Ejogo Set to Star in 'True Detective' Opposite Mahershala Ali

Carmen Ejogo has just joined the cast of the third season of True Detective on HBO!

The 44-year-old actress is set to star in the upcoming season of the anthology drama opposite Mahershala Ali.

Season three is said to focus on “the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.”

Carmen is set to portray a schoolteacher from Arkansas who has a connection to two missing children in 1980.

Mahershala will play a state police detective.
