Tom Holland as Nathan Drake in 'Uncharted' Movie - See the First Look!

Tom Holland is starring in the upcoming movie Uncharted, an adaptation of the popular video game, and the first look of him as Nathan Drake has been released!

The 24-year-old actor, best known for his work as Spider-Man, shared the photo on his social media accounts on Thursday (October 22).

The official Twitter account for Naughty Dog, the maker of the video game, shared a photo of the video game’s voice actor Nolan North on set with Tom.

“Find someone who looks at you like Nate looks at Nate,” the account wrote.

Tom replied to the tweet and said, “Do you think Sony would be pissed if I spontaneously uploaded a first look picture. I got Nolan’s approval so I guess they can’t fire me now.”

Tom then shared the first look photo and said, “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Nate. #uncharted.”

Variety reports that the story “follows Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who journeys across the world to uncover various historical mysteries.”

Sony Pictures has announced that three of the studio’s upcoming movies have been delayed due to the current shutdown of movie theaters amid the health crisis.

The Spider-Man spinoff movie Morbius, the upcoming sequel Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and the video game adaptation Uncharted have all been pushed back.

Morbius, starring Jared Leto as the title character, was originally set to hit theaters on July 31 and it has been delayed until March 19, 2021.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which includes the return of the film’s original cast, was originally going to be released on July 10, but it has now been pushed back to March 5, 2021.

Tom Holland‘s movie Uncharted was going to be released on March 5, but it has been delayed until October 8, 2021 to make room for Ghostbusters.

The studio also announced that the Kevin Hart movie Fatherhood will now come out earlier than planned. It was originally hitting theaters on January 15, 2021, but it will be released on October 23, 2020.

'Uncharted' Movie Loses Director Travis Knight - Here's Why

The upcoming movie Uncharted, an adaptation of the popular video game, will need to find a new director as Travis Knight has dropped out.

The action-adventure movie had to be pushed back due to star Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man film schedule. He’ll be shooting the next Marvel movie in the summer and now Uncharted is being delayed.

While Tom and co-star Mark Wahlberg remain attached to Uncharted, Travis is no longer able to fit the film in his schedule, according to Deadline.

Travis made his live-action directing debut last year with the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, which received great reviews with a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. He also directed the animated movie Kubo and the Two Strings and produced Missing Link.

The website reports that “the Uncharted film has a story line that captures the protagonist as a young man, as he grows into the treasure hunter Nathan Drake.”
