Lena Waithe and Queen Latifah are kicking off the first day of Essence Festival!

The actresses both took the stage at the event on Friday (July 6) at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA.

They were also joined at the event by Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, Vivica A. Fox, Ne-Yo and Snoop Dogg.

After speaking at the event, Lena took to her Instagram to share her excitement for the weekend.

“My first @essencefest… has been quite lit. If you see me just holla!” Lena wrote.

The Talk won for Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment beating out favorite Ellen DeGeneres while the ladies of The Real won for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Hosts.

Other winners for the evening included Dr. Oz winning for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative for a second year in a row as well as Steve Harvey, Wayne Brady, The Price is Right, Good Morning America, and Entertainment Tonight.

50 Cent is responding to a story published about his ex, Vivica A. Fox, and their sex life.

Apparently, Vivica published details about their sex life in her upcoming self help book “Every Day, I’m Hustling,” calling their bedroom activities “PG-13,” the NYDN reports.

“Most of the time, I would be the one initiating sex, because I really enjoyed making love with him,” Vivica wrote, saying their sex life was “cherished and special.”

In response to the story, 50 Cent took to Instagram and wrote, “I’m waking up to this sh*t, that was 14 years ago. 🤦‍♂️smh who does this? What the f*ck!”

50 Cent and Vivica dated in the early 2000s.

Ben Affleck is all smiles while on stage at the 2016 Elle Women In Hollywood Awards held at the Four Seasons Hotel on Monday (October 24) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 44-year-old actor was joined at the Hearts on Fire-presented event by Bellamy Young, Katie Lowes, Chelsea Handler and Tracee Ellis Ross.
