'We Can Be Heroes' Sequel Coming From Netflix After Holiday Premiere

Netflix has ordered a sequel for We Can Be Heroes, the adventure offshoot movie from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl franchise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie, from Robert Rodriguez, set a viewership record after premiering on Christmas Day.

The site says that based on just two minutes of viewing time by a subscriber, the movie contributed to the service’s biggest on record for the same week, year-over-year, as measured by both total view hours and average view hours per subscriber across each period.

Netflix also reported that 44 million households viewed We Can be Heroes in the movie’s first 28 days on the service.

Now, a sequel is coming and will continue the franchise for another movie.

Taylor Dooley, Priyanka Chopra, Pedro Pascal, Christian Slater and many more starred in the flick.

Pedro Pascal, Priyanka Chopra, Christian Slater, Boyd Holbrook, Haley Reinhart, Brently Heilbron, Isaiah Russel-Bailey, Brittany Perry-Russell, and Yaya Gosselin will star in the film, along with Taylor Dooley reprising her role as Lavagirl.

After first promoting the film for a New Year’s Day release, Netflix just announced that the film will be out even earlier – on Christmas Day!
