Mary-Louise Parker Explains What Attracted Her to Broadway’s ‘The Sound Inside’

Mary-Louise Parker poses for a photo with co-star Will Hochman at a photo call for their Broadway play The Sound Inside on Friday (September 20) in New York City.

They were joined at the press event by playwright Adam Rapp and director David Cromer.

Mary-Louise appeared on The Today Show that morning and talked about what attracted her to the play.

"I just loved the writer Adam Rapp. He's so gifted and his prose is so beautiful. I just found the writing so compelling. I'm not always the best judge of what people are going to like, but I just thought it was really interesting," she said.

Mary-Louise also said she didn't think she was the best actress for the role and initially recommended friends like Laura Linney and Cynthia Nixon to the producers.

The play is now in previews at Broadway's Studio 54.
