Ethan Peck On Playing Young Spock in 'Star Trek: Discovery': 'Won The Lottery'
Ethan Peck keeps it cool as he speaks at the panel for his show Star Trek: Discovery held during the CBS segment of the 2019 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour at The Langham Huntington on Wednesday (January 30) in Pasadena, Calif.
The 32-year-old actor was joined at the event by his co-stars Sonequa Martin-Green and Anson Mount, as well as writer-producer Alex Kurtzman and executive producer Hreather Kadin.
Ethan will be the ninth actor to portray Spock either on television or on film: “Hopefully, I’m building those boots,” Ethan told Space.com. “This is the Spock before the very first time we’ve seen Spock, which is ['Star Trek' creator Gene] Roddenberry’s and [actor Leonard] Nimoy’s Spock in the original series … absolutely I have big boots to fill.”
“It’s an insane burden and terrifying but also a hugely exciting challenge and an incredible gift — I feel like I’ve just won the lottery,” Ethan continued.
