YouTube Star Landon Clifford's Wife Explains What Led to His Death at 19

Camryn Clifford is speaking out to explain what happened to her husband Landon Clifford and how he died at the young age of 19.

The couple gained fame on the internet with their Cam&Fam channel on YouTube. Camryn took to social media last week to share the sad news that Landon had passed away after being in a coma for nearly a week.

Now, Camryn is explaining what led to Landon‘s death. The news might be triggering to some, so please continue reading with caution.

“It’s a very important story to be told and it is my job to tell it, but it’s not an easy story to tell at all,” Camryn said in a YouTube video. “He has had mental health issues for as long as I have known him. He suffered from anxiety and depression. He has ADHD which he has had since he was a little boy, so his whole life he’s always just kind of struggled with his emotions and just the way his brain was wired.”

“There was other things going on with our lives that we didn’t really talk about,” she said. “Many factors just kind of contributed to the fact that his mental health just wasn’t really great at the time.”

Camryn explained that Landon started falling into a depression after she got pregnant with their second child.

On August 13, Camryn said she could tell something was wrong when Landon started to apologize to her for everything that they had gone through.

He told her that he was going to take a bath and when she went to check on him 30 minutes later, he wasn’t there. She found him in the garage, where he had hung himself.

When the EMTs arrived, they were able to find a pulse, but Landon was declared brain dead on August 18 after spending several days in the hospital. He was an organ donor and Camryn noted how his death is saving the lives of others.

“He always put others above himself,” she said. “Even in death, he was caring about people.”

Camryn said that Landon did not leave a suicide note. She said, “I know Landon. I know he was not thinking rationally. He’s a very impulsive person. He always has been and he does things without thinking and I think he felt guilty about how everything has gone for the past year and I think he just felt like a burden and like we’d be better off without him, which is so far from the truth and I wish he would have known that. I am heartbroken. [Our daughter] Collette is confused. There is no way that we’re better off without him.”

Through tears she said, “If he knew everything that would follow after he did what he did, he wouldn’t have. That’s why I am here to tell his story because there are so many people out there who need to hear about what comes after.”
