Julia Garner Gets Into Character as Anna Delvey for 'Inventing Anna' TV Series in NYC

Julia Garner is back to work on the set!

The 26-year-old actress was spotted getting into character as Anna Delvey on the film set of the Inventing Anna TV series on Thursday (October 1) in New York City.

Julia stars in the upcoming Shonda Rhimes show alongside Anna Chlumsky, Laverne Cox, Katie Lowes, and Alexis Floyd.

Here is the official synopsis for the show, via Netflix: “In Inventing Anna, a journalist (Chlumsky) with a lot to prove investigates the case of Anna Delvey (Garner), the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York’s social scene — and stole their money as well. But is Anna New York’s biggest con woman or is she simply the new portrait of the American dream? Anna and the reporter form a dark funny love-hate bond as Anna awaits trial and our reporter fights the clock to answer the biggest question in NYC: who is Anna Delvey?”

If you didn’t know, Anna Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, was a poor Russian immigrant who posed as a wealthy German heiress to gain access to a better life and con people into funding her lifestyle. She is currently serving a prison sentence and will likely be deported after she’s released.
