Tyler Perry Will Play Madea Again, This Time in a Netflix Movie!

Tyler Perry will be bringing his iconic Madea character out of retirement for a new Netflix exclusive movie!

The 51-year-old entertainer will write, direct, and star in the upcoming film A Madea Homecoming, which will be released on the streaming service in 2022.

The movie will be filmed at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta and it marks the ninth Madea film, as well as the 12th on-screen appearance for the character.

Tyler previously said that his last time playing Madea would be in 2019′s A Madea Family Funeral. At the time, he told THR, “I don’t want to be her age playing her, so it was time to shut it down and move on. I’ve got some other things I want to do, and in this next 50, I’m going to do something different.”
