Helen Hunt Pitched A 'Twister' Sequel About Black & Brown Storm Chasers Last Year & The Unthinkable Happened

Helen Hunt is opening up about why her version of a Twister reboot was shot down last year.

The 57-year-old actress and filmmaker revealed in a new interview with Watch What Happens Live! that her pitch about a Twister movie that starred all black and brown performers was passed on.

“I tried to get it made,” she told Andy Cohen on the show. “With Daveed [Diggs] and Rafael [Casal] and me writing it, and all Black and brown storm chasers, and they wouldn’t do it. I was going to direct it.”

Helen added that they could “barely get a meeting, and this is in June of 2020 when it was all about diversity. It would have been so cool.”

Helen is currently starring in Starz’ Blindspotting, and was just seen at the premieres in both NYC and LA!
