Joshua Jackson Dishes On How Fatherhood Affects His Acting Career

Joshua Jackson is opening up about how fatherhood is shaping his acting career in a brand new interview.

While promoting his new series, Dr. Death, the 43-year-old actor shared that having daughter Janie, who he shares with wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, shapes everything he does.

“A whole new world of things has just opened up to me in experiencing fatherhood and this magical, joyful, chaotic, stressful anxiety-inducing love that you did not know you had the capacity for,” Josh shared.

Joshua added that her birth was a key factor in whether he took the role in the show or not, too.

“If it had been six months earlier, I wouldn’t have taken the job because Jodie was still pregnant and I really wanted to obviously be there for all of that,” he explained to US Weekly.

He adds, “This job was, like, cosmically the right job because it came at exactly the moment where it worked for me and I felt like I had the emotional bandwidth.”

Josh went on, saying that he was grateful that he had a “beautiful wife [and] beautiful baby” to return to amid the “heavy” project. “My life is very warm and supportive.”

Just a few days ago, Josh met up with his co-stars for the premiere of Dr. Death in NYC!
