Get to Know Actress & Author Renée Felice Smith with These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)
Renée Felice Smith, who is best know for playing Nell Jones in the CBS series NCIS: Los Angeles, recently released her debut children’s book!
“Hugo and the Impossible Thing” follows a brave little bulldog named Hugo and the book is inspired by Renée‘s real-life French Bulldog Hugo and his battle with a brain tumor.
We caught up with Renée to learn more about her to celebrate the release of the book. Check out 10 Fun Facts below:
- I talk in my sleep and say fun things like, “I’m having dreamin’s of pancakes.”
- As a kid I was in a Dannon Yogurt commercial where my very pronounced New York accent was heavily featured. Someone please find it and post on Youtube. I’d welcome the trip down memory lane.
- I love elderly people. And prefer them to my peers. Always have, always will.
- We did two cross country road trips over the pandemic. In a van. With two dogs weighing 250 lb. combined. Yes, we are crazy van people. And we love it. #vanlife
- I exclusively drink water out of 24 oz jars. How did this happen? I have no idea but somehow they have replaced all the glassware in my house. As a result, I am extremely hydrated and always have to pee.

- I love pizza so much it hurts. No, really. I usually injure my insides when eating pizza cause I have too much of it.
- I am afraid of birds. I actually duck when they pass overhead. A friend’s pet canary got stuck in my hair as a kid. Wings flapping, claws clawing, on top of my head. Cue lifelong irrational fear!
