The 42-year-old actress posed for a photo in the spread with her mom Betty and her daughter Ava! Here’s what she shared with the mag…

On being outspoken with her beliefs: “I always tended to be outspoken with my opinions. Whether they were appropriate or not.”

On creating a space for female leads in Hollywood: “The idea is to put women at the center of the story…I was sick of making movies where I was the only female lead on the set. I was sick of seeing scripts where there was one female role, badly written, and yet every actress in town wanted the part because there was nothing else.”

Reese Witherspoon leads the way as she and daughter Ava Phillippe leave the Barneys New York store on Tuesday afternoon (January 8) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 42-year-old Oscar-winning actress looked cute in a blue and white-floral print dress, black coat, and knee-black leather boots while her 19-year-old daughter rocked a Nirvana T-shirt and leopard-print, long skirt as they did some shopping together.

Reese Witherspoon makes sure she’s honest with her daughter Ava!

The 42-year-old actress recently explained that she thinks that being honest with children is important because not everything can be perfect all the time.

“I feel like I’m constantly counteracting pressure from the parents who want to make the lives of their kids golden and magical at all moments! Guess what, kids? You’re going to be disappointed and uncomfortable once in a while,” Reese explained to FastCompany.

She added, “I remember Ava crying in bed in third grade — she was on JV basketball and she was the only kid on the team who didn’t score. I said, ‘Aves, maybe you’re bad at basketball.’ She thought that was mean. I said, ‘Mean or true? ‘Cause, guess what? Your mom’s bad at basketball, too.’”

Ava Phillippe and Deacon Phillippe enjoy some sibling bonding time at Cinespia’s screening of the 1987 cult classic The Lost Boys!

The 18-year-old daughter and the 14-year-old son of Reese Witherspoon and her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe teamed up for the sold-out event, presented by Amazon Studios, on Saturday night (July 14) in Los Angeles.

Ava wore a yellow and blue floral dress with a black leather jacket, an assortment of jewelry, and bold red lipstick, while Deacon sported his Philadelphia 76ers sweatshirt and grey sneakers.

They were joined by Rowan Blanchard, Dita Von Tesse, Josh Groban, Tommy Dorfman, Amandla Stenberg, Stella Hudgens, Taylor Bagley, and more.

The Weeknd (not pictured) was also in attendance to catch the screening after checking out DJ Myles Hendrik’s set. The whole group was on their feet and singing when he played Guns N’ Roses’ classic “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

Sarah Paulson and Ava Phillippe leave their hotel while en route to an event on Thursday night (May 3) in New York City.

The 43-year-old Ocean’s Eight actress and the 18-year-old budding style star attended the Tiffany & Co. Paper Flowers event that evening.
