Casey Affleck‘s estranged wife Summer Phoenix has officially filed for divorce.

The 41-year-old actor and 38-year-old actress’ divorce announcement comes a little over a year after they revealed their separation.

The couple share two children – 13-year-old Indiana and 9-year-old Atticus.

Summer cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split and is requesting spousal support and joint physical and legal custody of their children.

The two met back in 1995 after Summer‘s brother Joaquin worked with Casey‘s brother Ben on To Die For.

The couple dated for many years before marrying in 2006.

Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney were also in attendance with their 3-year-old daughter Jane at the benefit raising money for children in third-world countries around the world.

Earlier in the week, Justin and his wife Jennifer Aniston supported Jason at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

The 41-year-old actor received his girlfriend Floriana Lima‘s support earlier in the weekend while accepting the Presidential Award for the movie.

A Ghost Story, also starring Rooney Mara, will be released in theaters on July 7.

Casey Affleck made an appearance on last night’s (June 20) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, and opened up about his big regret from the night he accepted his Oscar for Best Actor for Manchester by the Sea.

The 41-year-old actor admitted that he felt guilty about forgetting to thank his two kids – Indiana and Atticus – in his acceptance speech so he gave them his Oscar trophy when he got home.

“I immediately realized I hadn’t done that. And that was a shame,” Casey expressed to Jimmy, adding that he called them immediately after. “I said, ‘I won…but I didn’t mention you, even though you are the most important thing in my life and I love you more than anything and I would trade a thousand Oscars for you guys.”

“A few weeks later – this is true – I went into one of their rooms and I saw it actually in the corner with, like, a wet towel over it and clothes and stuff,” Casey concluded. “And I’m like, ‘You know what? I’m going to hang onto it, guys.”

Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck star in the powerful first trailer for A Ghost Story, a film that has received critical praise after debuting at Sundance earlier this year.

In the film, Casey‘s character dies in a car accident, and then comes back as a ghost to watch over his former life. It is really Casey under that sheet the entire movie.
