Ed Sheeran has announced he’s taking a break from social media to “travel, write and read,” but he is promising to be back with new music.

“Hello all. Gonna go on another break again,” Ed began his note.

“The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it’s all over it’s time to go out and see some more of the world.”

“I’ve been a bit non stop since 2017 so I’m just gonna take a breather to travel, write and read. [I'll] be off all social media until it’s time to come back.”

Ed also promised to “be back with some new music when the time is right and I’ve lived a little more to actually have something to write about.”

If you missed it, Ed just opened up about his 50 pound weight loss.

The 28-year-old musician lost 50-pounds over the past few years after gaining weight during a rigorous touring schedule.

Ed explained that when he started smoking, his fitness regimen “all kind of went out the window.” He admits to “ballooning” during his X Tour in 2014 followed by the Divide Tour in 2017 and weighing around “15 to 16 stone” (210-224 lbs).

“It’s always America that gets me. America in buses. You finish a gig in America [and] you get a tray of chicken wings, sit in the back of the bus, watch The Simpsons, drink a couple bottles of wine. Then that’s every single day so it just piles on you,” Ed said on the Behind the Medal podcast.

After facing criticism in the media for his weight and wanting to the clear out his lungs from smoking, Ed decided to make a change three years ago.

Ed now spends time running every day and enjoys things in moderation, weighing in around 12 stone (168 lbs).

“I had to make a real effort on the tour. I’m 12 stone now. I started running. I’ve got into cycling as well…You can’t be outwardly unhealthy, but also you have to find a balance,” Ed concluded.

The 28-year-old crooner and his wife can be seen goofing off with food, sharing a kiss, dancing, and cuddling on the couch in the video, which features a number of couples’ stories.

“Back in high school, Ed and Cherry were crushing hard. They made out at the castle on the hill. A few years ago they reconnected, there were fireworks. They married in January 2019,” the caption on the video says during their segment towards the end.

Ella Mai, who sings on the tune, also has her own clip after Ed and Cherry‘s.

“The voice you just fell in love with is Ella Mai. She just swiped right,” the captioned read for Ella‘s moment at the end, before she went off on a date.

Is that Ed Sheeran as a Stormtropper? You bet it is!

The 28-year-old singer pops up in the new look at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker dressed up in full costume.

Ed isn’t part of the film, though. Filmmakers noted that the trailer footage is from “fan events over the years.”

Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran teamed up for World Mental Health Day and made a video “to ensure that not just today but every day, you look after yourself, your friends and those around you.”

At first, though, there was a big misunderstanding!

“I’m really excited today. I’m going to go and film a thing with Prince Harry,” Ed said at the beginning of the video. “He contacted me about doing a charity video with him, which, you know, is going to be good. I’ve long admired him from afar.”

Later, Prince Harry said to Ed, “This, for me, is a subject and a conversation that’s just not talked about enough. I think people all over the world are really suffering.”

Ed agreed, adding, “Well, you know, with like the jokes and the snide comments. I just feel like it’s time that we stood up and said, you know, ‘We’re not going to take this anymore. We are ginger and we’re going to fight.’”

“Um, OK. Um, slightly awkward,” Prince Harry responded. “Um, this may be a miscommunication, but this is about World Mental Health Day.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are planning something special for World Mental Health Day this week.

In a teaser video on Sussex Royal’s Instagram, Prince Harry is seen invited Ed Sheeran into his new home, Frogmore Cottage.

According to some reports, Ed is set to give royal fans an inside look at their home for World Mental Health Day.

In the clip, Ed is seen ringing the door bell, before Prince Harry answers, saying, “Hey, mate!”
