In a new interview, Elisabeth revealed that director Leigh Whannell had her read and edit his script so that the movie did right by a female point of view.

“I think most men who are intelligent want to,” Elisabeth shared with Esquire. “I mean, this was written by a man. He wrote it brilliantly. It’s a beautiful script and what’s on the screen is very, very close to what he wrote. But he also had the intelligence to ask me, as soon as I was cast: ‘Can you please tell me what I did wrong here? What did I miss? You’re a woman, you’re coming at this from a completely different perspective. What can I put in here that will be true to being a female?’”

The Invisible Man follows Cecilia Kass (Moss), who manages to escape an abusive relationship only for her abuser (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) to begin tormenting her as an invisible entity.

Elisabeth continued: “Most men that I’ve dealt with, and worked with, have that frame of mind. So, I think that is important, and I think that most smart men know that. But there are some dummies out there.”

During another interview, Elisabeth revealed why she loves doing horror movies.

Elisabeth Moss Explains What 'The Invisible Man' Is Really About: 'The Analogy Is Incredibly Clear'

Elisabeth Moss is making her rounds for upcoming thriller, The Invisible Man!

The Emmy-winning actress stepped out for her photo call at Villamagna Hotel on Wednesday (February 19) in Madrid, Spain with writer-director Leigh Whannell and producer Jason Blum just a day after their photo call at the Soho Hotel in London, England.

Elisabeth Moss recently opened up about the real themes of The Invisible Man: “You literally have a man who is invisible, you can’t see him, she’s saying he’s there, that he’s attacking her, abusing her, manipulating her, and everyone around her is saying, ‘Relax. It’s fine.’ And she keeps saying, ‘No, he is – he’s alive, he’s doing this,’ and no-one believes her,” she said (via CinemaBlend). “The analogy is incredibly clear.”

“I’ve had quite a bit of experience playing characters who are dealing with various types of abuse,” Elisabeth continued. “Whether it’s emotional, physical, sexual, it’s something that I’ve dived into quite a bit. So I was able to bring that knowledge to the role.”

The movie hits theaters on February 28 – Watch the trailer HERE!

FYI: Elisabeth is wearing an A.L.C. dress in London. She’s wearing Schutz boots in both cities.
