Kirsten Dunst & Gabrielle Union Pitch Possible 'Bring It On' Sequel Ideas

Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union are ready to do another Bring It On!

Kirsten, who played Rancho Carne Toros captain Torrance, and Gabrielle, who played East Compton Clovers cheer captain Isis, took part in a Zoom reunion in honor of the movie’s 20th anniversary with director Peyton Reed and writer Jessica Bendinger.

During their chat, the ladies started pitching possible ideas for a Bring It On sequel.

“The impact, 20 years later, that this movie had and continues to have, that’s awesome,” Gabrielle shared. “So whatever that we may one day come up with, I mean, Kirsten, maybe we’re like co-heads of the PTA. I don’t know.”

“Or we run a cheer school like Cheer,” Kirsten added, referencing the Netflix docu-series about the cheerleading team at Navarro College.

Gabrielle then asked if they can be the ones who gets to decide who gets to be on the mat, like Navarro’s head cheer coach, Monica Aldama.

“Yeah!” Kirsten responded. “I feel like it’d be fun if we — I mean, it has to be a competition against somebody now.”

Bring It On premiered on August 25, 2000.

If you missed it, Kirsten recently reacted to being part of Kanye West‘s “2020 Vision.”

Gabrielle Union Says Her 'America's Got Talent' Exit Was Her Hardest Time in Hollywood

Gabrielle Union revealed that her America’s Got Talent exit was her hardest moment in the industry so far.

“Probably the ‘AGT’…it all was so surprising and so heartbreaking and so frustrating and so unnecessary. That would be probably the hardest part (of my time in the industry),” Gabrielle told USA Today.

If you missed it, following reports last year that America’s Got Talent fostered a toxic workplace environment that caused Gabrielle to complain, she then filed a discrimination complaint earlier this year.

At the time of the original 2019 complaint NBCUniversal and series producer FremantleMedia responded to the allegations by saying, “America’s Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show. The judging and host line-up has been regularly refreshed over the years and that is one of the reasons for AGT’s enduring popularity. NBC and the producers take any issues on set seriously.”

Gabrielle Union Slams AGT's Terry Crews Again, He Apologizes for Third Time

Gabrielle Union is slamming her former America’s Got Talent co-star Terry Crews once again.

The actress and former AGT judge was interviewed on the Spotify podcast Jemele Hill Is Unbothered and she was asked about Terry‘s recent criticisms of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Terry recently received backlash over a tweet he wrote about “black supremacy.” A few weeks later he tweeted, “If you are a child of God, you are my brother and sister. I have family of every race, creed and ideology. We must ensure [black lives matter] doesn’t morph into [black lives better.]” He then went on CNN and debated the purpose of the movement.

Earlier this year, Terry made comments about Gabrielle‘s firing from AGT and he received a ton of backlash, including some from her.

In the new podcast interview, Gabrielle reflected on everything that has happened with Terry.

She said, “People hit me all day long and are like, what’s happening? And the only thing I know for sure is that Terry Crews gets three checks from NBC. So, I don’t know if being worried about job stability — which listen, we all know that if you speak up about racism and white supremacy, you absolutely can be shown the door. I don’t know if that’s the motivation.”

“Based on his recent actions, do you really think Terry Crews was an ally, was helpful, was a sounding board? I think Terry Crews is showing us who he is and what he does during times of adversity and it’s not solidarity,” she added.

After Gabrielle made claims of a toxic environment behind the scenes at AGT, NBC investigated the claims and decided that she wasn’t the victim of discrimination.

“At the end of the day, the work that I am doing to make sure that NBC is a more fair and equitable place of employment will benefit you [Crews] as well,” Gabrielle said (via Deadline). “So it’s OK to eat your cereal and let me do my thing and get out of the way. If you’re not going to help, then get out of the way. If you don’t feel financially comfortable, or spiritually comfortable or you flat out disagree, but at the end of the day he will benefit from a safer, more equitable workplace from what I stuck my neck out to do and got fired for, you know? Instead of actively working against progress.”

Gabrielle Union Says 'More Changes Are Needed' After NBC Releases New Plans to Prevent Workplace Harassment

Gabrielle Union is reacting to NBC’s new workplace harassment prevention plans.

Universal TV and Streaming chairman Mark Lazarus issued a memo to employees on Tuesday (July 7) where he explained that the company is upping it’s efforts to create a safe working environment where employees feel safe to come forward with issues of misconduct, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Shortly after the memo was released, Gabrielle reacted to it, saying that it’s a step in the right direction, but “more changes are needed” to prevent further cases like hers.

Gabrielle appeared as a judge on season 14 of America’s Got Talent. In November 2019, she alleged that there was a racist and “toxic” work culture on set of the show.

“Great start by NBC to recognize the need to not turn away & ignore racial & gender discrimination on programs like #AGT,” Gabrielle tweeted. “More changes are needed however like stopping executives from intimidating talent from sharing their experience of racism in their own workplace investigations.”

Back in June, Gabrielle filed a discrimination complaint against America’s Got Talent producers. In the complaint, Gabrielle accused NBC exec Paul Telegdy of threatening her for speaking out against racism on set. NBC is denying Gabrielle‘s claim.
