Edward Norton is joined by co-stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Willem Dafoe at the world premiere of their movie Motherless Brooklyn on Friday (August 30) in Telluride, Col.

The 50-year-old actor also wrote and directed the new movie and brought it to the 2019 Telluride Film Festival for its world premiere.

Edward first pitched the project 20 years ago and it was a long road to getting it made!

“I want to thank Warner Bros. We made this film independently and Warners took an enormous leap with us and have been just stupendous in supporting us , getting into festivals and getting it out. In particular my friend Toby Emmerich who has patiently waited for this film for 20 years,” he said at the premiere (via Deadline).

The movie, which hits theaters on November 1, was also directed and written by Edward, from the novel by Jonathan Letham.

Bruce Willis, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones, Michael Kenneth Williams, Leslie Mann, Ethan Suplee, Dallas Roberts, Josh Pais, Robert Ray Wisdom, Fisher Stevens, Alec Baldwin and Willem Dafoe also star in the film.

Here’s a plot summary: set against the backdrop of 1950s New York, the movie follows Lionel Essrog (Norton), a lonely private detective living with Tourette Syndrome, as he ventures to solve the murder of his mentor and only friend, Frank Minna (Willis). Armed only with a few clues and the engine of his obsessive mind, Lionel unravels closely-guarded secrets that hold the fate of the whole city in the balance. In a mystery that carries him from gin-soaked jazz clubs in Harlem to the hard-edged slums of Brooklyn and, finally, into the gilded halls of New York’s power brokers, Lionel contends with thugs, corruption and the most dangerous man in the city to honor his friend and save the woman who might be his own salvation.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Luke Evans and Kylie Minogue strike a pose on the green carpet while attending the 2019 Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition Preview Party held at the Royal Academy of Arts on Tuesday (June 4) in London, England.

The stars were joined at the event by Florence Pugh, Alexa Chung, Jorja Smith, James Bay, Iris Law, Ellie Bamber, Georgia Fowler, Stacy Martin, Kelly Osbourne and her beau Jimmy Q, Paloma Faith, Jennifer Saunders and Graham Norton.

Also in attendance were Lady Amelia Windsor, Nick Grimshaw, Joely Richardson, James Norton and Jodie Harsh.

Summer Exhibition is the world’s largest open submission art show and brings together art in all mediums – prints and paintings, film, photography, sculpture, architectural works and more – by leading artists, Royal Academicians and household names as well as new and emerging talent.

Mark your calendars because Netflix’s Dark Crystal prequel series now has a premiere date!

The streaming service announced on Tuesday (May 21) that the 10-episode The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will premiere on August 30.

Along with the announcement comes a series of first-look images, which you can take a look at in our gallery.

Directed by Louis Leterrier, the show’s voice cast is led by Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel, as Rian, Brea, and Deet, three Gelfling heroes.

The Gelfling characters are also voiced by Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham Carter, Harris Dickinson, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, and Alicia Vikander.

The Skeksis & Mystics are voiced by Harvey Fierstein, Mark Hamill, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Simon Pegg, and Andy Samberg.

Aughra will be voiced by Donna Kimball. Additional characters will also be voiced by puppeteers from the production, including Alice Dinnean, Louise Gold, Neil Sterenberg, and Victor Yerrid as Hup.

Reese Witherspoon sports a brunette wig on set of The Morning Show on Thursday afternoon (April 25) in Los Angeles.

The 43-year-old Oscar-winning actress was joined on set by co-star Gugu Mbatha-Raw as they filmed their upcoming Apple TV+ series.

The show has already received a two-season, 20-episode order. According to THR, “the drama offers an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning.”

Other cast members include Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, and Mark Duplass.

The Morning Show will premiere this fall.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw brightens up the room during her interview with E!’s Daily Pop on Tuesday (April 16) in Los Angeles.

The 35-year-old actress was on the show to promote her new movie Fast Color.

Gugu opened up about the best piece of advice that she received from Oprah Winfrey.

“Just being yourself, that was one of the things she gave. Also a gratitude diary. The idea of writing down 5 things every day that you’re grateful for is just a nice way to have an optimistic outlook and magnetize positivity,” she said.

Isla Fisher steps out for The Broad museum’s opening celebration of the new art exhibition Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power on Friday night (March 22) in Los Angeles.

Also in attendance at the event were Jay-Z and Black Panther‘s Angela Bassett with husband Courtney B. Vance.

The exhibition celebrates the work of more than 60 Black artists made over two decades. Jay and more stars arrived for the celebration in Land Rover vehicles.
