Hilarie Burton has become the queen of Christmas movies but that almost didn’t happen!

The 37-year-old actress revealed that she was dared by her friend Paul Rudd to sign on for her first holiday flick.

Hilarie says she was out to dinner with Paul and his wife Julie Yaeger when she got a call with her first offer for a Christmas movie. (Hilarie‘s husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan is one of Paul‘s longtime best friends)

“At the time, no one was doing them. It was like, ‘Uhh kinda dorky…I don’t know, I’m edgy,’” Hilarie explained to People.

She continued, “They were like, ‘No you have to do it! We love them. We watch every single one, every single year…you’re doing it!’”

Hilarie added that even though it was a “dare,” she’s realized she has “found a great genre where I don’t have to take my shirt off, I don’t have to do anything weird and they’re three week shoots.”

A Christmas Wish airs on November 28th on Hallmark Channel.

Hilarie Burton is opening up about her decision to speak out against One Tree Hill showrunner Mark Schwahn.

Back in 2017, the 37-year-old actress joined the rest of the cast in writing a statement about how they were treated in “traumatizing” and “downright illegal” ways on set.

“I kept quiet for a very, very long time because there was all this fear that not only would it jeopardize my career but it would hurt the careers of anyone else. It would destroy the fantasy for the fan base. There was a lot of pressure to just shut up,” Hilarie told People.

She added that while it’s “been empowering to take control of our narrative,” they still have never gotten an apology.

She added, “We still have never received an apology or a phone call from anybody who was in any position of power. No producers, no executives, not one single person has ever reached out to us. It’s not shocking.”

Earlier this month, the couple, who share two children, decided to finally tie the knot after being together for over a decade.

“We had built this life together. We’d had kids together. I think there comes a point where you just don’t want to go another day by being inauthentic about it,” Hilarie told People.

She added, “I have a book coming out in March with Harper One called The Rural Diaries, and it really is about the choices that we made leaving L.A. to go live on a farm in upstate New York. It’s not a convenient lifestyle, certainly for our business, but those choices that we made to create that life have really forced us to be, yeah, more authentic with our choices, like the animals have to be fed, the wood has to be chopped, and so we wanted to be a concrete truth, like those things.”

The holiday season is about to be rung in over on Lifetime, with the network unveiling its biggest It’s A Wonderful Lifetime lineup yet and earlier than ever before.

This year’s event, which will see the premieres of a new holiday special as well as 28 brand new movies, kicks off on October 25, the earliest date yet, and will see not only the newest films, but also a full slate of programming which will see 24 hours a day, 7 days a week of holiday-related movies and other programming through Christmas Day. New films will premiere every weekend throughout the holiday, and will also see a brand new special as well.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton got married over the weekend and a stunning wedding photo has been shared!

The couple has been together for over ten years and it was widely believed that they were already married, but they never were until now.

Jeffrey wore a custom Joseph Abboud outfit, which he created in collaboration with the designer and his stylist Jeanne Yang.

“Jeffrey was a pleasure to work with. His aesthetic mixed with the rich textures and patterns of these designs were the perfect pairing,” Abboud said in a statement. “I am so happy for Jeffrey on his big day!”

The Walking Dead‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan and One Tree Hill‘s Hilarie Burton were not ever officially married until October 5, 2019!

The couple have been together since 2009 and have two kids together: son Gus, 9, and daughter George, 19 months. All along, reports suggested they were legally married but Hilarie just clarified for everyone with an Instagram post.

“this past weekend was the best of my entire life. There are dozens of thank yous I need to make. So bear with me over the next week as I gush over the amazing group of people who gave us this beautiful moment. But before we do any of that, Jeff and I just want to put it out there that WE GOT MARRIED! For real. We’ve lived as husband and wife for a decade. We’ve built a family, and a farm and found our community. For years, publications have reported that we got married in 2014 or 2015 and that I’ve been married and divorced before. All untrue. But WE knew our truth,” Hilarie wrote.

“So it felt silly to try and correct anything. Here’s the God’s honest fact: From the moment I met @jeffreydeanmorgan , he was my husband. Rather than make vows right out of the gate, we lived them. For over ten years. The good times and the bad. Standing up there with our children at our sides – celebrating all that has been – was bliss. I love you Jeffrey. I love our intimate group of friends and family who joined us. I love the various circles of loved ones who have supported us over the years. It was private and magical and everything I dreamed. So yeah. I’m Mrs. Morgan. 10.5.19,” she added.

Jeffrey‘s wife Hilarie Burton and singer Marilyn Manson were also there to show their support.
