Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde‘s breakup was confirmed in November and a source close to the situation is revealing how he’s been doing lately.

An insider told People that Jason, 45, “is absolutely heartbroken about the split.”

It seems that Olivia has moved on from her relationship with Jason and is now dating singer and actor Harry Styles, who is starring in her upcoming movie Don’t Worry Darling. They were spotted holding hands while attending a friend’s wedding last weekend.

Despite everything that is going on, the source says that Jason hopes to “repair things” with Olivia still.

A source is speaking out about Olivia Wilde and her ex Jason Sudeikis after news broke that she’s now dating Harry Styles, her co-star in Don’t Worry Darling. Harry and Olivia were photographed holding hands at his manager’s wedding over the weekend.

“So it’s not like she’s rushing into something [with Harry],” the source told ET about splitting up a year ago. “Olivia and Jason talk all the time and are still close because of the kids. It’s highly unlikely he was blind-sided by this news.”

The 36-year-old actress/director and the 45-year-old Ted Lasso actor shared a long and loving embrace before going their separate ways on Sunday (December 20) in Agoura Hills, Calif.

After their embrace, Olivia was seen staring deep into Jason‘s eyes as he talked to her.

The friendly exes spent the day hanging out with a few acquaintances, where they were both seen staying safe in face masks.

During a new interview with Variety, the 45-year-old actor chatted about creating the title character behind his hit Apple TV+ comedy series, revealing that he was inspired by several different actors and mentors, including Robin Williams.

“(The character) is rooted in these teachers here, and mentors, these Obi-Wan Kenobi types that see more in you than you can see in yourself, and that optimism,” Jason shared. “We wanted someone that when they spoke, could speak intelligently from a high EQ [emotional quotient], and celebrated the divine feminine.”

“Of course their kids are their number one priority and at the forefront of any decision they make,” the source added. The actors are parents to two children; son Otis, 6, and daughter Daisy, 4.

“They adore each other and have nothing but the utmost respect for one another. They will continue to be each other’s biggest supporters, especially when it comes to parenting their children and their careers,” the source continued. “They see each other all the time still.”

“They just fell out of love in a romantic way, but still have love towards one another as people. They consider themselves friends and co-parents first and foremost,” another source added. “They are committed to co-parenting successfully for the sake of Otis and Daisy and have done a great job so far at staying connected in a healthy way for their relationship and for their children.”

Jason Sudeikis opened up to Drew Barrymore on her new talk show about the possibility of his children, Daisy and Otis, going into show business one day.

The 45-year-old father of two and Ted Lasso actor got candid about the weight of responsibility that goes with being the parent of a child actor and what his and partner, Olivia Wilde‘s opinion on having their own children go into acting one day is.

“They’re going to make believe anyway,” Jason shared. “I don’t know if we’ll have them do film or commercials, but we have had them go to improv classes. They’ve both done little sketches with me, and we did a thing during quarantine for my old SNL brother, Seth Meyers, on his show.”

He continues, “I think exposure to anything that your kids have an interest in or want is helpful. It keeps it from being an obsession, almost.”
