A star-studded virtual table reading of the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High is taking place next week and it’s going to be great!

The 1982 movie starred Sean Penn, was directed by Amy Heckerling, and was written by Cameron Crowe. While Sean will be participating in the table reading, he will not be reprising his role as Jeff Spicoli.

Dane Cook is presenting the “Feelin’ A-Live” fundraiser to benefit the emergency relief nonprofit CORE, which was co-founded by Sean, as well as the criminal justice reform organization REFORM Alliance.

The cast will include Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey, Henry Golding, Shia LaBeouf, and Morgan Freeman. More casting will be announced soon and the roles they’re playing won’t be revealed until the event takes place.

“On behalf of our dedicated team at CORE, I’m so appreciative of the support Dane has given and continues to give to our work. I’m always game for a giggle. So, to gather remotely for a night of laughs with so many talented folks while providing CORE with much-needed resources to continue our vital work, then consider us fully onboard to play!” Sean said in a statement.

The event will stream live on Facebook on Thursday (August 20) at 9pm ET / 6pm PT.

Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington will be starring in the upcoming movie Leave the World Behind, which has been set up at Netflix.

The two actors worked together almost three decades ago in the movie The Pelican Brief and this is a long-awaited reunion!

Leave the World Behind is based on the novel by Rumaan Alam and the film will be written and directed by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail. The novel will be published this fall by HarperCollins.

Here is the film’s synopsis, via Deadline: “Amanda and Clay’s aspirational vacation with their teenage children is interrupted by the arrival of a middle aged couple who own the holiday home and who have fled an unprecedented blackout in the city. When the internet, television and radio stop working, as does the landline, they have no way of finding out what is happening. As strange sonic booms shatter the peace of the countryside, and animals start to migrate in strange ways, the physical and mental health of the families begins to disintegrate. The renters are upscale and White; the owners are upscale and Black. The issues of race and clash become distractions to the more alarming things are happening all around them.”

Julia will be playing Amanda while Denzel will be playing the owner of the home.

Julia usually refrains from posting photos of Daniel and their kids on social media, so it’s a nice surprise to see this new pic!

Julia and Daniel married back on July 4, 2002 at their ranch in New Mexico. They share three kids: 15-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and 13-year-old son Henry.

Julia Roberts and Hugh Jackman are giving up control of their social media accounts!

Starting on Thursday (May 21), stars will be handing over their social accounts to COVID-19 experts as part of the #PassTheMic campaign.

Experts including Dr. Anthony Fauci will use the stars’ platforms to share facts and science-driven perspectives on the pandemic. The campaign will continue for several weeks and feature frontline workers as well as health, economic, and other experts.

Other stars that will be taking part in the campaign include Shailene Woodley, Danai Gurira, Millie Bobby Brown, Penelope Cruz, Rainn Wilson, Rita Wilson, David Oyelowo, Connie Britton, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

“Beating the virus means listening to the experts and following the science, data and facts to get ahead of it. This impressive group of talent and experts from around the world will put a spotlight on the need for a global response to this pandemic,” ONE Campaign President and CEO, Gayle Smith said in a statement. “We need global cooperation and action to fight this pandemic – especially for the people, communities, and countries that are least able to withstand the shock. Because none of us are safe until all of us are safe.”
