Kaitlynn Carter is opening up about life after Miley Cyrus.

The 31-year-old The Hills: New Beginnings star opened up on Instagram Live with Whitney Port on Thursday (April 16).

“What happened to me, basically just after Miley and I went our separate ways, I thought, OK, my life’s just kinda going back to the way it normally was for me when I’m on my own. I had no expectations that anyone would give a s–t about me by myself. I had no plan in place. I didn’t think about anything. For example, I was dealing with a lot emotionally at that time, obviously, and I really wasn’t going out anywhere. I was just staying home,” she admitted.

She went on to say she was shocked that the paparazzi were still following her.

“I just didn’t anticipate anything like this happening. I’m used to it when I’m, like, with Brody [Jenner] or when I was with her, but never when I’m on my own. My mind is just swirling.”

She went on to say she tried to say something “that was kinda stupid,” only to see headlines about how she was “out on the town, partying with a mystery man just two weeks after her breakup.”

“I was just so mortified…the narrative was so not what the actual situation was and that was such a wake up call for me…I had always gone with the flow or whatever people say they say, I don’t care.”

“In relationships especially, I have always taken a back seat a little bit and sort of trusted the person I’m with to run the show, especially publicly because it’s never really been something that I wanted. I never really wanted to put myself out there that way,” she admitted.

Kate Beckinsale hits the carpet while attending Spotify’s Best New Artist Party ahead of the 2020 Grammys on Thursday night (January 23) at The Lot Studios in Los Angeles.

The event featured performances from all eight artists who are nominated for Best New Artist at this weekend’s Grammy Awards.

Heidi Klum was at the event with her husband Tom Kaulitz and his brother and Tokio Hotel bandmate Bill Kaulitz.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is gorgeous as she strikes a pose at her Hourglass x Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Launch Celebration held at Sunset Tower on Wednesday (January 15) in Los Angeles.

The 32-year-old model was joined at the event by Hustlers star Constance Wu, Dakota Fanning, Brittany Xavier, Kaitlynn Carter and Becca Tilley at the celebration where Rosie was announced as the brand’s first official ambassador.

Miley Cyrus has unfollowed two of her exes, Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter. It’s unclear when she unfollowed them, but fans have taken notice to her follow list.

As of the time of the publishing of this article, Miley no longer follows her two exes. Liam does not follow Miley anymore, but Kaitlynn does still follow Miley.

This news comes just hours after Kaitlynn admitted she fell in love with Miley during their brief romance.

Kaitlynn and Miley‘s relationship ended in September, after their romance was revealed in August.

Miley and Liam‘s split was announced this past August.
