Jennifer Hudson is all smiles on the red carpet at WCRF’s An Unforgettable Evening on Tuesday (February 27) at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 36-year-old entertainer was honored with the Nat King Cole award for her ongoing philanthropic work around women’s issues.

Sofia Vergara was honored with the Courage Award at the event and James Corden hosted.

Some of the other attendees included Steven Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw, Rita Wilson, Jennifer Tilly, Lori Loughlin, Lisa Kudrow, Jessica Hart, Natalie Martinez, and married couple David Walton and Majandra Delfino.

Steven Spielberg is the latest celebrity to donate to help fund the March for Our Lives.

The 71-year-old award-winning director and his wife Kate Capshaw have donated $500,000 to help offset the costs of the event in Washington, DC to protest for meaningful gun control created after students at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida were victims of a senseless act of violence when a shooter opened fire and killed 17 people.

“The young students in Florida and now across the country are already demonstrating their leadership with a confidence and maturity that belies their ages,” Steven and Kate said in a statement via Deadline. “Kate and I applaud their efforts to take a stand for the benefit of this and future generations. They are an inspiration to us all, and we are joining in this movement with a donation of $500,000.

George and Amal Clooney and Oprah Winfrey have all donated to the event already.

The event is a March 24 march on the streets of Washington, DC for children and families who want gun violence to end.

Meryl Streep keeps it chic and sophisticated while hitting the red carpet at the European premiere of her Golden Globe-nominated film The Post held at The Odeon Leicester Square on Tuesday (January 10) in London, England.

The 68-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-star Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, as well as director Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw.

The evening before, Steven weighed in on Natalie Portman‘s viral moment from Sunday’s Golden Globes, where she took a shot at the lack of gender diversity in the Best Director category.

“There’s also a watershed happening right now, slowly, maybe not fast enough, for women directors,” Steven, 71, expressed (via ET) at the 2018 National Board of Review Awards Gala. “I mean you have [Wonder Woman director] Patty Jenkins. We have some amazing women that have come forward, you know Mudbound and Lady Bird. This is a pretty incredible year, and I think you’ll be seeing some nominations. I’m predicting at the Oscars this year for a woman director, if not several.”

The award-winning actress was joined at the event by her The Post co-star Tom Hanks (with wife Rita Wilson) and director Steven Spielberg (with wife Kate Capshaw).

Meryl and Tom received the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor at the event! The Post was also named Best Film.

Grace Gummer, Meryl‘s daughter who stars on the series Mr. Robot, showed her support at the gala.

Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep join director Steven Spielberg on the red carpet at the premiere of their movie The Post on Thursday (December 14) at Newseum in Washington, D.C.

The star-studded event was also attended by co-stars Sarah Paulson, Alison Brie, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Bob Odenkirk, Matthew Rhys, Stark Sands, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Bradley Whitford.

Showing their support at the event were Tom‘s wife Rita Wilson, Steven‘s wife Kate Capshaw, and David‘s wife Amber Tamblyn.

The Post will hit theaters in limited release on December 22 and everywhere on January 22.

Steven Spielberg is joined by wife Kate Capshaw at the premiere of his documentary Spielberg at the 2017 New York Film Festival on Thursday night (October 5) at Lincoln Center in New York City.

The 54-year-old Oscar-winning director was also joined on the red carpet by the film’s director Susan Lacy.
