Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry make their first appearance as a married couple while walking the red carpet at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards held at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday (April 13) in Los Angeles.

The 39-year-old The Talk co-host talked about how it feels different being a married woman.

“It definitely feels different. Like, I thought it might feel a little different, but it feels more different than you expect,” Sara said (via ABC News). “You feel like you’re part of this institution, and official and, ‘Oh, I better not mess this up.’”

She added, “You feel safer, in a way. I guess you feel like you’ve really committed and it’s not about, ‘Can I deal with this quality … or not deal with it?’ It becomes, ‘How will we deal with our relationship together?’ and, ‘How will we make it work?’”

Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry have tied the knot, according to People.

The 39-year-old The Talk co-host and the 48-year-old songwriter got married on Sunday (March 30) after getting engaged back in April.

“I happened to be talking about gay marriage and I thank you all for your support on that issue. That was before I had any idea about any of this. I’m super shy and don’t usually want to tell anything,” Sara previously said about her engagement on her talk show. “But I wanted you guys to know because I feel like you’re a part of our family here.”

Sara Gilbert is engaged to marry her girlfriend of two years, Linda Perry!

The 38-year-old talk show host and the 47-year-old songwriter announced their engagement on Monday (April 8) during an episode of The Talk.

“We go to a park, and we have food and we’re eating it, it’s really sweet and there’s this guy sitting playing guitar, like a street musician, and he starts playing this song that we love… I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s so weird, this is so magical and amazing,’” Sara said about how Linda proposed.

“So that ends and she’s like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna ask him to play this other song,’ but this other song is really obscure and this guy wouldn’t know it, but magically he knows it… And suddenly the people picnicking next to us pull out string instruments from under the blanket and walk over and they start playing Love Song (by The Cure),” Sara added. “Then she goes to her backpack and she pulls out some T-shirts and the first T-shirt says, ‘Will,’ and then she puts on another T-Shirt that says, ‘You,’ ‘Marry,’ ‘Me’ and the last one is a question mark. And then she goes to her backpack and gets a ring.”

“So then she says, ‘Ok, turn around,’ and I turn around and our mums are there and a couple friends… So I think that’s it and it’s the most amazing proposal ever and then… this guy walks up and she’s like, ‘This is John Waite,’ and he starts playing ‘Missing You,’” Sara said.

Christina Aguilera celebrates John Lennon‘s 70th, the launch of a Montblanc education initiative which will help give children access to music education, and the new film Nowhere Boy, at NYC’s Lincoln Center on Sunday (September 12).

The 29-year-old singer kept it classy in a classic black Dolce & Gabbana dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Stephen Webster ring.

Christina performed her own rendition of Lennon‘s “Imagine” at the event which was hosted by Susan Sarandon.
