Nina Dobrev speaks on stage at the 2016 GLSEN Respect Awards held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Friday night (October 21) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 27-year-old actress dolled up for the event to honor YouTube star and activist Connor Franta.

“Connor Franta has carried the message of respect to millions of young people online, and his authentic self-expression is the type that we envision for all of the youth we serve,” GLSEN executive director Eliza Byard said in a statement.

Hairspray Live actors Ephraim Sykes, Maddie Baillio, and Garrett Clayton joined in ont he event alongside Freeform stars Chelsea Kane, and Hayden Byerly and his girlfriend Alyssa Jirrels.

Charlie Carver, and JJ Totah were also spotted at the event.

FYI: Nina wore an Armani dress, Jerome C. Rousseau shoes and a Tyler Ellis clutch.

The musical takes place in Baltimore in the early ’60s, when teenager Tracy Turnblad lands her dream role on the popular Corny Collins Show and becomes a dancing sensation overnight, crossing paths with a colorful array of characters along the way.

The first, full cast promo pic from Hairspray Live! has just been released!

Newcomer Maddie Baillio stands in the center along with her cast Dove Cameron, Ariana Grande, Garrett Clayton, Derek Hough, Harvey Fierstein, Jennifer Hudson, Kristin Chenoweth, Martin Short, Shahadi Wright Joseph, and Ephraim Sykes.

The musical takes place in 1962 Baltimore, where teenager Tracy Turnblad’s dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV program. When, against all odds, Tracy (Baillio) wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight and meets a colorful array of characters.

Hairspray Live! will air on December 7th.

The first look at the cast of NBC’s Hairspray Live in costume has been released in this new promo!

Harvey Fierstein, Jennifer Hudson, Martin Short, Kristin Chenoweth, Ariana Grande, Derek Hough, Dove Cameron, Garrett Clayton, and newcomer Maddie Baillio are all seen in their 1960s outfits in the new clip.

Hairspray Live will air live from Los Angeles on December 7.

Also featured in the cast will be Rosie O’Donnell, Andrea Martin, and Sean Hayes. This is the fourth live musical that NBC will be doing after The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, and The Wiz.

Jennifer Hudson, Harvey Fierstein, Kristin Chenoweth, Derek Hough, and Maddie Baillio walk the red carpet at NBCUniversal’s Press Day during the 2016 Summer TCA Tour held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (August 2) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The stars were at the event to chat about NBC’s upcoming production of Hairspray Live!

During the panel, it was revealed that two original songs written for the musical movie version of Hairspray will be added into the production. Also, unlike previous NBC productions, the action will move outside of the soundstage when the scene calls for the characters to go outdoors.

It was also revealed that Sean Hayes will play Mr. Pinky and Rosie O’Donnell will be playing the gym teacher.

FYI: Kristin is wearing an Alexis dress. Derek is wearing a Ted Baker London suit and shirt with Aldo shoes. Jennifer is wearing a Jonathan Cohen dress, Rupert Sanderson shoes, an M2Malletier clutch, and APM Monaco jewelry.

Meet Maddie Baillio, the young actress who was cast to play Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray Live following the open casting call back in April!

The musical is set to air on Wednesday (December 7) live on NBC, and also stars Harvey Fierstein as Edna Turnblad, Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad, and Derek Hough as Corny Collins.

Maddie is currently a sophomore at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, and originally hails from Texas. The casting call brought out 1,000 hopefuls, and Maddie won the role!
