Blink-182 Divides Internet on Pronunciation of Their Band Name!

Blink-182 is dividing the Internet on how to pronounce their band name.

The dilemma began when The Late Late Show‘s head writer and stand-up comedian Ian Karmel tweeted that the British call Blink-182 “Blink One Eight Two.”

“The British call Blink-182 ‘Blink One Eight Two’ and I’m not saying that’s WHY they lost the Revolutionary War, but…” Ian joked.

Many fans were surprised to learn about the British pronunciation so Ian‘s boss James Corden weighed in to explain all the pronunciations were wrong!

“Don’t start this. I admit we are wrong on this. America call them Blink One eighty two. Which is also wrong. They technically should be called Blink One Hundred and eighty two. Don’t take some moral high ground here,” James tweeted.

Finally band member Tom Delonge weighed in…but wasn’t much help at all.

“It’s actually— Blink eighteen-two. People have all gotten this wrong for years. Sometimes this can happen with very complex, thoughtful and elevated art,” Tom joked.

It sounds like we may never know the correct pronunciation!

“To all the fans, I never quit the band. I actually was on a phone call about a blink 182 event for New York City at the time all these weird press releases started coming in…” Tom wrote on his Facebook page. “Apparently those releases were ‘sanctioned’ from the band. Are we dysfunctional- yes. But, Christ….. ‪#‎Awkward‬ ‪#‎BabyBackRibs‬.”
