The official trailer for Robert Downey Jr.‘s Dolittle is out now!

The 54-year-old actor plays Dr. John Dolittle in the upcoming film.

Here’s the synopsis for the vivid reimagining of the classic tale of the man who could talk to animals: “After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. But when the young queen (Jessie Buckley) falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.”

It continues, “The doctor is joined on his quest by a young, self-appointed apprentice (Harry Collett) and a raucous coterie of animal friends, including an anxious gorilla (Rami Malek), an enthusiastic but bird-brained duck (Octavia Spencer), a bickering duo of a cynical ostrich (Kumail Nanjiani) and an upbeat polar bear (John Cena) and a headstrong parrot (Emma Thompson), who serves as Dolittle’s most trusted advisor and confidante.”

The film also stars Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, and Jim Broadbent and features additional voice performances from Marion Cotillard, Frances de la Tour, Carmen Ejogo, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez, Tom Holland, and Craig Robinson. (See more details on which characters they voice.)

Fox’s new show Prodigal Son has been given a full series pickup after just two episodes have aired of the new series!

The show stars Tom Payne and Michael Sheen, and follows criminal profiler Tom Bright (Payne), who has unique insight into the minds of serial killers — because his father, Dr. Martin Whitly, is one (via THR). This is the first Fall show to receive a full season pickup from their network!

“Prodigal Son delivers a fantastic crime procedural with a complicated and compelling father-son relationship at its core, thanks to the stellar performances from Tom Payne and Michael Sheen,” Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn said in a statement. “The series has razor-sharp writing, cinematic visuals and is an inventive twist on the genre….We can’t wait to see how this twisted journey continues to unfold.”

In total, the show has been given nine more episodes, totaling 22 for the season.

Bellamy Young, Halston Sage, Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau, and Frank Harts also star.

Michael also shared a sweet photo leaving the hospital with little Lyra in his hands.

“Happy to say that at 8:41 am on Monday September 23rd our beautiful daughter Lyra was born. Thank you so much to Louise & all the brilliant midwives at both the Singleton and NeathPortTalbot hospitals. ❤️👶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇸🇪😍,” Michael wrote.

The 50-year-old actor and the 25-year-old actress reportedly welcomed a baby girl earlier this week.

Michael‘s father Meyrick confirmed the news to Daily Mail in a statement, saying, “We are thrilled to bits, over the moon.”

Michael and Anna shared their pregnancy news back in July, just one day after they revealed they were in a relationship.

This is the couple’s first child together. Michael also shares 20-year-old daughter Lily with ex Kate Beckinsale.

Michael Sheen paid a visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday (September 11), and revealed his look for his Underworld character caused him “trouble” in real life!

The 50-year-old actor admitted he “kept getting thrown out of shops” at the time he was playing Lucian in the vampire/werewolf flick.

“The worst was when I went to pick up my daughter from an ice-skating lesson, it just so happens that the Beckhams were at the ice skating rink [as well],” Michael recalled. “Victoria [Beckham] was friendly with my daughter’s mother, so she saw ‘him’ turning up and taking my daughter away and she called security. Like I was the child catcher from ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang‘.”

Michael also talked about expecting his first child with girlfriend, Anna Lundberg, and playing a serial killer in Prodigal Son.

Michael Sheen is speaking out in response to rumors that he was in a relationship when he met his current partner Anna Lundberg.

The 50-year-old Good Omens actor was in a relationship with actress Aisling Bea last year and there has been speculation about the timeline.

Michael and Anna are currently expecting their first child together.
