Patricia Arquette gave a powerful speech about transgender people during her acceptance speech at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old actress won for her work playing Dee Dee Blanchard in Hulu’s The Act.

“In my heart, I’m so sad,” Patricia said in her acceptance speech. “I lost my sister Alexis. And trans people are still being persecuted. I’m in mourning every day of my life Alexis. And I will be the rest of my life, for you, until we change the world so that trans people are not persecuted. And give them jobs. They’re human beings….give them jobs.”

Patricia‘s sister Alexis Arquetteu passed away back in September of 2016 and our condolences go out to Patricia and the entire Arquette family on their loss.

The Emmys will air live TONIGHT on Fox and the show will not have a host, marking the fourth time in history that this has happened.

Joey King is the toast of the town this weekend as we approach the 2019 Emmy Awards, where she is a nominee.

The 20-year-old actress kicked off the weekend by attending two parties – the THR & SAG-AFTRA Nominees Night and the EW Pre-Emmy Party – on Friday night (September 20) in Los Angeles.

Joey was joined by her sister, two-time Daytime Emmy winner Hunter King, at both of the events.

They also stopped by Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos‘ party where they ran into Joey‘s The Act co-star and double Emmy nominee Patricia Arquette.

FYI: Joey is wearing an Ulyana Sergeenko dress and Jimmy Choo shoes at the EW party. She is wearing a Prabal Gurung dress and Christian Louboutin shoes at the THR party.

Patricia Arquette hit James Corden‘s couch alongside Michael Peña on last night’s (July 31) episode of The Late Late Show, and revealed she was Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s very first kiss!

When James asked the 51-year-old Oscar winner about the long list of incredible actors she’s worked with, Patricia told James how she was Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s first kiss in the 1994 comedy Holy Matrimony.

“I end up marrying a very young Joey Gordon-Levitt [in the film], and we have to have a kiss. His mom was like, ‘this is his first kiss, he’s nervous’ – and I’m like, ‘I’m nervous’!,” Patricia recalled. “I went up to him and was just like, ‘hey, this is just pretend. This isn’t really your first kiss either, you get to really have your own first real kiss.’”

Patricia Arquette also talked about her upcoming directorial debut and what her actors can expect on set, while Michael Peña told James about his life as a city man living in Chicago – Watch more after the cut!

Last night, Patricia also hit the red carpet with co-star Angela Bassett at the premiere of their new Netflix film Otherhood.

Patricia Arquette and Angela Bassett hug it out on the red carpet at the premiere of Otherhood on Wednesday night (July 31) at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, Calif.

The stars were joined at the premiere of their new Netflix movie by co-stars Frank De Julio, Jake Hoffman, Sinqua Walls, Emily Tremaine, and Tim Bagley along with director Cindy Chupack and Patricia‘s longtime boyfriend Eric White.

Skipping out on the premiere was Felicity Huffman – who has been staying out of the spotlight after she pled guilty for her role in the college admissions scandal. Her sentencing is set to take place on September 14.
